On a whim

Every time I go to mackinaw I've always wondered about the depot, but never went in. We'll I decided to give it a go. They had just opened for lunch so no one eles was there. Appitizers where half off that day which was nice. Ended up just getting half a sandwich and soup. The half a sandwich was... read more

Chose here as it was close and convenient, and it was fine, probably a bit out of the general area, but close to hotel

We decided, as a family to give this restaurant a try. We were seated right away and our kids were happy they could see the train going around the top. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable. She let our kids pull the cord to blow the train whistle, more than once, and they really liked that. Would definitely eat here... More

Fried cod was the best I'd ever had. Generous portions. Great service.(Thank you, Jeff!) Prompt, reasonably priced and delicious!

I was not overly impressed by this restaurant. We were crowed in and had pre-ordered. I ordered chicken, but the waitress said I ordered baked fish. To me the fish was underdone. The salad was fine, but we were given chocolate chip cookie for dessert with a take out bag.

Waitress was very pleasant, which made up for average food quality. Good location in the Mackinaw Crossings. Food selection and quality just average. Nothing really special to make our visit stand out. Take it or leave it....

Food was good. Service as not so good. Not many people there when we arrived and it took forever to get our food and the waitress was not very attentive. It was quite pricey as well. Won't eat here again.

One of the few that take reservations. We had a group of Corvette owners and they accommodated us. Food is great, service is great, and a great menu. It's located on the Mall and within walking distance of most of the downtown hotels.

we were in northern Michigan for a wedding and stopped here for dinner. This place has a quaint railroad motif with a model train running above the restaurant around the perimeter. We were seated and given menus and drinks brought to us. My wife ordered the fish fry and I ordered the meatloaf platter. When they brought our food it... More

The pickle chips were good, the sandwiches- not so good, on the greasy side (we had the club), my husband didn't want tomatoes, so of course he had lots on the sandwich, and barely any meat. He talked to the male waiter, who to his credit was very helpful and in about 10 minutes came back with a properly prepared... More
