Pretty darn good whitefish

We took our family of 10, grandkids, parents, teens, grandparents here and everyone found something they liked without breaking the bank. It's a very small place. You order at a counter and either sit inside or outside. We chose outside. The line to order can back up. We waited about 15 mins to get... read more

Very good food and budget friendly. Kids' meals offered, and entree was large enough to share. Great chowder. Friendly staff.

Whitefish seems to be the regional fish. Having a severe shellfish allergy, I was impressed that they were able to take care of my allergy. They have another fryer that would not deep fry shellfish. The deep fried battered whitefish was succulent, fresh and crispy. The whitefish was served with fries, hush puppies, coleslaw and tartar sauce. The place was... More

Great seafood at a reasonable price. I prefer Scalawags to a long john any day. Fish is always moist and has a nice crisp breading. The fires are pretty decent too. Plus the décor is pretty tasteful. Prices are very reasonable for seafood as well, great place for any family looking for good cheap eats.

We had lunch at this spot located on East Central in Mackinac City. The Whitefish was deep fried. The fish was not over cooked and was a good size filet. I didnt like the Whitfish chowder. Not very tasty and it was cold when we got it. So skip the chowder and just have the WHitefish fish and chips. Price... More

Fish was good, for really fresh fish and chips the price was reasonable, really busy but it was Saturday prime time so what can you expect. Going to try bells fishery and see how that compares.

We made this our first stop for whitefish when we got in town on Monday night. My wife and I split the 3 piece fish dinner our girls got fish dinners as well, I added a cup of soup. The fish was excellent, the soup was not the best but good. Be aware that if you tell them you are... More

The fish was fresh and fast. The restaurant was clean and inviting and the staff was awesome. Our two year old dropped her hotdog on the floor before she'd gotten a bite and they offered us another one free of charge. I was not expecting that! We come up here once a year or so from Wisconsin and this will... More

Nice little place. Nothing fancy. Very much like a Long John Silver's, but with a more local flavor. A few tables to sit inside, but we chose to sit outdoors, which was a nice option. The fish was very good!
