The Ice House is one of those places that if you are not staying at the island house you may miss. It would be a mistake. Eating lunch out on the back patio with the sun streaming through the trees is one of my favorite things to do on the island. I will warn you however they dont even take... More

You might almost miss this hidden gem if you don't already know about it or unless you see the "finger pointing" sign that directs you up the steep hill behind Island House Hotel. It IS worth the steep hike, so please check it out. There is indoor seating available but we always choose the outdoor patio. It's quaint, personable and... More

We enjoyed lunch outdoors. We ordered the BLT&G and fish and fries. The white fish was fried perfectly, and the fries were absolutely delicious. We also had the sweet potato fries which were the best I've ever had. Our server was attentive and did a great job. This restaurant is a bit off the beaten path, being located at the... More

We were staying at the Island House Hotel and after a big late lunch were looking for something easy for the evening. We ended up out back at the hotel’s Ice House Bar and Grill. They have a small menu but there is something for everyone. We sat out back and it was a very nice evening. The service was... More

The homemade chips and blue cheese dip were delicious! Our sandwiches were also wonderful, especially the BLT &G. A bit on the pricey side, but very yummy!

If your are tired of the hustle and bustle on the main drag, visit the "other" side of the island. If the Grand is the front porch this is the back porch. Were you can sit with friends or make new ones. The staff is friendly and knowledgable. They know the island and love to share. Try the fish and... More

This great bar restaurant is hidden behind The Island House on Mackinac Island. A getaway from the busy island with good food and good prices.

This restaurant piqued our interest. Fish and chips (yes, order the house chips and a really good dip that accompanies) and kale salad were delightful. Adequate service. We would have eaten lunch outside, but that area was full. Nice menu, quiet location, price reasonable, pleasant people. What more do you want?

This place is a little off the beaten path of the main drag. The setting is nothing fancy but the food is amazing! The blue cheese dip and homemade chips were so good and our sandwiches were great as well. It was nice to escape the crowds a bit, as most tourists don't venture back to this restaurant.

This small sandwich shop is located at the back of the Island House Hotel next to the pool and accessed from the outdoor walkway on the second floor of the hotel. Because it is tucked behind, it is relatively quiet and peaceful, but lacks most of the Mackinac Island charm and has no view. Nice bar, a few tables, some... More
