A rest from the rush.

The Ice House cafe remains a secret too the vast majority of visitors on Mackinac Island. I can guess what the owner would prefer, I, however, am pleasantly pleased with it being tucked away behind the Island House Inn with only a small sign to direct diners where to go. The menu is relatively... read more

We ate here twice. It was really good, service was wonderful and staff was fun. It's around the back of Island House Hotel.

The Ice House is located attached to and behind the Island House Hotel. We wanted to grab a quick bite to eat after a long day of travel and the front desk told us how to get there upon check-in. What was not mentioned was that you had to go outside in order to get there. Since it was raining,... More

The night before our wedding we had a table of 14 people that ate here. The food was great. We tried to go back with a larger group on another night but they were out of beer and had no other mixed drinks except orange juice and they closed the kitchen early, it was 7pm. I rated them higher because... More

We were invited to the Ice House for a dinner party. Even though we had been to the island about four times, we had never eaten there before. We will definitely be back.

Casual restaurant, fine for families (Alladin was on the screen when we arrived) or those who want to sit at the bar. Bacardi on the rock was $8. The Monte Cristo, not often found on menus, with a chipotle raspberry jam was very good ($10.95) and with a cup of soup ($3.50) was too generous to finish. Our server was... More

Great little outdoor seating area. Tables are far enough apart outside to not hear other conversations. Food was excellent, our server was informative, quick, thorough and kind. Just behind the Ice House hotel on Main Street.

The Ice House is one of those places that if you are not staying at the island house you may miss. It would be a mistake. Eating lunch out on the back patio with the sun streaming through the trees is one of my favorite things to do on the island. I will warn you however they dont even take... More

You might almost miss this hidden gem if you don't already know about it or unless you see the "finger pointing" sign that directs you up the steep hill behind Island House Hotel. It IS worth the steep hike, so please check it out. There is indoor seating available but we always choose the outdoor patio. It's quaint, personable and... More

We enjoyed lunch outdoors. We ordered the BLT&G and fish and fries. The white fish was fried perfectly, and the fries were absolutely delicious. We also had the sweet potato fries which were the best I've ever had. Our server was attentive and did a great job. This restaurant is a bit off the beaten path, being located at the... More
