Most charming

One of the best on the island. A charming place that is certain to set the tone while relaxing on Mackinac. Great staff and menu. A must.

We had been here several years ago and loved it. So, when we returned to celebrate our 40th anniversary with our children and grandchildren, this was where we decided to celebrate. What a letdown our dining experience was. Service in the past was impeccable. This time it was mediocre at best. You could tell that the training of the waiters... More

My husband and I were very excited to celebrate our wedding anniversary here. However, we left very disappointed, feeling like we wasted our time and money. We both ordered the Smoked Pork Loin for $28.00. The meat was extremely salty and didn't taste much like pork loin at all, much more like ham. Our server approached us and asked if... More

So much to take in at this quaint Bavarian themed resturant with incredible food. Once a mansion playhouse, this now turned resturant offers more than a sensory experience for your tastebuds and feast for your eyes. Behind the lounge area you can even take a crack at the old time bowling alley after dinner. Setting your own pins required.

We spent five nights at Grand Hotel recently, the last two of which we just booked at the "bed and breakfast" rate so that we could try a couple of other recommended restaurants on the island. We chose The Carriage House (not great) and The Woods. Our dinner reservation at The Woods was on the last night of our stay,... More

The location and carriage ride is awesome! However I feel as though I was completely ripped off! Portions are very small. You will pay $42 for a 10oz NY strip steak that is under seasoned. Although the salmon was good you get a 4oz portion for $28. I was not impressed with the food at all! I would suggest to... More

The treat begins with a delightful carriage ride through the woods. The restaurant is quite charming and the food is OK, though a bit expensive for the quality.

The place was perfect. Beautiful setting, magical ambience, attentive service and delicious tasty food. I had the lamb shank that was cooked to perfection with juices flowing. My husband and the whitefish which was equally good. Magical evening
