let me say our hosts favorite restaurant and I can see why. Food was excellent and service to the tee. Remember you are on the Island and part of the Grand Hotel ownership so remember you will pay for what you get. A bit pricey once the tip added in ..~ $ 125 a couple ..

We should have turned around and gone someplace else but did not. The noise level was so bad we could not talk at our table at all. The service was extremely poor. Pretty much ignored by our server. The prices for what you get are a joke. We spent over $110 for 2 people. We had an entree and a... More

My wife and I have been to the Woods restaurant many times in the past and usually enjoyed very good meals. This visit left me extremely disappointed. The cheese board was a disappointment from a lack of imagination. The lobster soup was exceptional, but my New York strip steak was over cooked and looked like a steak that came straight... More

My husband and I went here for our "big" mini-moon dinner out. It was perfect for this. We took the shuttle out from across from the Murray Hotel, it was right on time. The drivers both to and from were entertaining and friendly. That alone was an experience! We got there about an hour before our dinner to ensure we... More

The Woods Restaurant is not just a place to have a fine meal - it's an experience. We gathered at a certain lamp post on Main Street and were picked up by a horse drawn carriage. After an enchanting drive past the Grand Hotel, South Bluff "Cottages," and through the island forest at dusk, we arrived at a large woodland... More

This was a wonderful experience for our anniversary! The food was very good, the ambiance beautiful and the staff were amazing. Michael is the best server and Neal the maitre d' was extremely helpful. We will go back.

The Woods is an experience. It is literally, in the woods. It's an old German themed mansion with stunning decor, impeccable service, and wonderful food.

I would give a 5 for the ambiance of the building itself and its location, as it is real special. I would give a 3 for the food, it was adequate and not worth the price. As to staff, I would give it a 1 as I had difficulty confirming the reservation and several items were missed or served incorrectly.... More

The whiners here are ridiculous. The carriage ride to the wait in the bar with old time bowling that kids especially enjoy to the food, always an excellent experience. Highly recommended. Don't listen to the one and two star people. They have no clue. Super cool experience.
