Worth the ride

We went to Woods Restaurant after our host for the week suggested that it would be a fun ride. It was my birthday and they brought out a cake. The staff was welcoming. The decor is whimsical. The food was good but I can't remember what I had a year later. At that time, The Woods was associated... read more

A little out of the way but worth the time to get there. Great menu. We had the goulash and ravioli. Service is terrific and there is a nice wine list.

This place is top notch in so many ways. The horse carriage ride through the woods to get there from town through the woods was amazing in and of itself. Amazing food and service. Waiter was friendly and had things there as soon as we thought we needed them. And they have a cute little bowling alley for the kids!!... More

After reading reviews on here, I decided we had to try The Woods on our first visit to the island. I am so glad we did! Everything about this meal was perfect, starting with the enchanting carriage ride to and from the restaurant. On our way back, we were treated to an amazing sunset near the Grand Hotel. The location... More

The food was very good. The service was very good. The prices are high, but not out of the ordinary for this class of restaurant. The cheapest glass of wine is $11, which does seem a bit steep.

We go to the Woods Restaurant every time we're on the island. We love the enchanting horse carriage ride through the woods to get there, the old hunting lodge decor in the restaurant and, not least, the wonderful food. A real treat for us every time.

After a long day of travel from Chicago we checked into our hotel at close to 9pm. Fortunately, we were just feet from The Woods. Dinner was excellent & our waiterConrad was lovely. Very helpful with our wine & food selections. Both were excellent!! What a satisfying end to a long day and a great beginning for our first visit... More

This is a wonderful place to eat and worth the cost. It feels European with a hunting flavor. Neat, quaint atmosphere. The food was wonderful. Had the salmon and it was prepared perfectly. This is a fantastic place. Would definitely return and urge you to go. Make reservation because it is not a big place. Short carriage ride from downtown.

We were staying at the Grand Hotel and did not want to eat dinner there, because the food at the off property dining venues are vastly superior to what is served in the Grand's main dining room. Therefore, we decided to venture out to The Woods Restaurant, which is owned and operated by the Grand Hotel. To reach the restaurant... More
