This place was a great discovery. A perfect tea and coffee shop. The ice tea and lemonade were delicious, seriously. They also came with one free refill. After walking around Mackinac State Park , we found this little shop. It was very quiet and there was no hint of any horse manure smells! The views were lovely. It is not... More

Nice stop for a bit of tea or coffee. Tucked under the Bay View B&B this small cafe offers quiet indoor and outdoor seating with a view of the harbor. There is a remembrance of New England created here that might lull you into sitting longer then needed. Quick chai tea with a light snack make the Beanery a good... More

My husband and I recently spent a weekend on Mackinac Island. As we walked from the ferry docks to our hotel, we noticed a line out the door at Starbucks. Based on the long line, I thought that was going to be our only option for coffee on the Island. Wrong! As we got closer to our hotel, I noticed... More

It was our first morning on the island. The sun just came up the streets were quiet and I strolled to this great coffee shop. What a view first thing in the morning, right on the water. Chatted with a local while I waited for my latte. The oatmeal looked amazing as did the danishes. You know it's good if... More

Small place, really worth noticing. Behind a b&b, wouldn't necessarily notice that it was there, but we are very glad we did. Good food, nice people. It was a nice morning where outdoor seating was available.

My new husband and I decided to go across the street to this wonderful establishment. It is tucked away and so quaint. We took the cake topper from our wedding cake and since we didn't think it would make the trek home decided to have it with some coffee for breakfast. We ordered our coffee, very good cappuccino, and sat... More

I've been going here for many years. Went recently with my kids, who also love it. Mostly had beverages, but did have lunch one day, my son and I had corn chowder soup, my daughter had a sandwich. The soup was one of the best i've ever had - the potatoes were a good size and cooked perfectly. The broth... More

Delicious pumpkin spice latte with a gorgeous view! Kids loved the waffles. Do not go to Starbucks...go local here.

I'm not a lover of chain restaurants but I LOVE coffee so it was critical that during our visit to Mackinac Island we find somewhere to have coffee. JL Benery is hidden down on a dock. It is small and unassuming. There is seating inside and outside so you can go and order a cup of coffee to enjoy by... More

Make sure not to miss this hidden gem! The best morning coffee and breakfasts served by a great staff. When we visit the island this is our go-to for morning meals or an afternoon cup to relax by the water. You can get starbucks anytime, but to support the locals and get a great meal, the beanery is the way... More
