My husband and I have enjoyed cocktails and dinner at The Piper for many years, starting back in the early 90's when the restaurant was called The Sandpiper. The location at Eldean's Boat Yard, overlooking Lake Macatawa is beautiful. The food and service, however, are mediocre at best. This is a good spot to stop for a drink and a... More

My wife, daughter, and I have been using Piper for our anniversary dinner for the past nine years, and we are never disappointed. (We also frequently take advantage of their takeout pizza.) We started with the blackened scallops, which seemed a bit on the rare side but still tasty. I had the combo with a frisée salad and the sockeye... More

Each year we visit the piper, it's a nice restaurant with a stunning view of lake Macatawa. This year the food was much less thrilling than in years past. It was just okay - it's about $30-40 a person with a full meal and drinks so just okay is a disappointment. The best thing was an appetizer with chèvre cheese... More

The dinner was outstanding and the atmosphere was refreashing. Service was great and the waitress was full of local information.

Not what I expect for the type of price point attached. I visited the Piper on a Tuesday. As a table of 3 we did not have a reservation but the restaurant was able to accommodate us after a short wait. That was my fault but the restaurant not being on OpenTable did not help as I would have used... More

Gumbo gets a C+. Couldnt find the jumbo prawns in it. Caesar salad a B. Scallops and tuna were very small and not worth the price. See my picture. Tuna was raw. I had to send back. The waitress said they serve it rare to medium rare. There is difference between medium rare and raw. Upon being seated i asked... More

Weather was nice enough to sit outside and watch the sailboats head out to Lake Michigan. Special was a sockeye salmon that was very good, but we went there for desert! I had the Sticky Toffee and T had the Campfire Cheesecake. Both worth the trip!!

The panoramic sunset view at the Piper Restaurant is worth the 15 minute drive from downtown Holland. The food was pretty decent, but not nearly as upscale and fancy as the prices would suggest. It was seasoned well and the portions were large but I was expecting more. We were here on a Monday night and the service was painfully... More

Service was great. Went there with three colleagues and sat outside. I had the Ginger Prawns and it was very tasty although the portion could have been a little larger. The view looks over many docked boats and the sunset is nice.

I am very picky about restaurant and do not give 5 stars out easily, but Pipers was a very solid 4+stars. Both my friend and I had delicious entrees (duck and tuna/scallops) as we enjoyed the waterfront view.
