A groovy laid back space to hang out on the deck and have a beer...reggae music was playing in the background in harmony with the water gently hitting the dock. Any place to get an ice cold Red Stripe and sit in the sunshine is great. The food is good. Yea, service is a bit slow, but what's the hurry?... More

This place is a surprise. The food is much more than you might expect. The Cuban Sandwich and Mahi Tacos are among the best I've ever eaten. The dress is very casual, plenty of people off their boats in swimwear. The pace is relaxed (don't go if you're in a hurry) but all in all it's a great spot.

Been going here for 3 years for food and boat rentals. However this year I was treated like no customer ever should have. This business and its owner has no integrity. I spent hours trying to rent a boat this year for 3 days, and since Barnharts seemed to busy to do rentals they lied and said they were booked... More

I got there just before 5 PM on a cold wednesday in August. It was not busy and they were down to 1 server. The sign says wait to be seated and I tried to but another patron chided me into grabbing a seat... I'm glad that happened because that one server would have taken about 10 minutes to notice... More

Food was good but nothing exciting! Should have stuck to staying a general store and marina like it was back in the day!!! The renovations are very nice.

A great Caribbean establishment that holds true to laid back Island life. If you are expecting a corporate restaurant that will get you in and out in under 20 minutes this is not the place for you. If you're lookin for the best atmosphere north of Key West with amazing views and great rum then Barnharts is the place for... More

The restaurant is only open Memorial day through Labor day so a March 9 comment is probably bogus. I go there a lot and sometimes they are very busy. But the service is always good and the food great. This is the only restaurant on Hamlin lake so when the weather is great they can be overwhelmed. If you want... More

I don't understand previous reviews at all! The place is great! Food is exellent, Caribbean music playing and lake view! My family and friends love this place! We spend a lot of time on Hamlin lake every year and we go to Barnharts often. We usually come by boat and sit on the deck Saturday evenings as theres usually live... More

Ditto to everything on 1st review...but we stayed for lunch...the longest lunch of my life. Food was good, just took 2 hours to get there. Why we stayed...beautiful summer day on the lake, great view and we were kept in cold drinks. Apps showed up AFTER lunch which took forever. And, yes, we heard kitchen convo clearly in dining room... The back room staff could be heard carrying on in the kitchen, while we waited for quite some time to get drink refills, when they finally got to us, the were mostly wrong. The waiter had no idea what the dish's were made of, and didn't seem interested in finding out for us. We settled for drinks, and a boat... More
