Old style family restaurant

If you look past the very dated and tired decor you have a friendly family restaurant. Service was great. My philly steak sandwich was delicious, with just the right amount of meat, peppers, onion and cheese. The bun was very soft so use a knife and fork. My wife had a BLT with lots of bacon. This is the old diner in town. I had the BBQ chicken dinner and it was decent. The pies and homemade bread is the key here. Wife ordered the BLT and it looked delicious. The interior is old, from the 1970's old, the tables are all close and at the time was a popular place for those 50+. I do... More

This place has seen it's better days. The carpet (Don't put carpet in a restaurant) has an order to it of spilled food. Seems dirty and the staff is rude.

The food is very fresh, and the portions large. Have eaten both breakfast and dinner here a few times. The homemade french toast is to die for. Also the cinammon raisin toast is by far the best i have ever eaten. You can not go wrong with this restaurant.

Friendly and attentive staff, unfortunately the quality of the food was lacking. The homemade breads could have been great, if they hadn't been grilled with oil on the flat top--be sure to order it dry. The French toast, scrabbled eggs and sausage links were okay, but didn't wow us. The bacon was soggy, but the fresh fruit was nice.

Open real early for breakfast. Great buffet with plenty of options. Pancakes AND blueberry pancakes! What a bonus! They were good and not soggy either. Plenty of eggs, hash browns, potatoes, bacon, sausage. We went bacon. Sausage looked like the garden variety buffet fare at big boy. No thanks. Go for the homemade toast when they offer- inch thick toast-... More

Our server was quick when she took our order and brought our drinks and food promptly. Once food arrive, it's like we were the family no one wanted at the picnic! The food that wasn't even par. When you walk into Old Hamlin, you see an excellence 2015 award from trip advisor, and I am not sure how that happened.... More

I enjoyed eating at Hamlin, it is reminiscent of the old diners in my youth. They had a very extensive menu with a large selection. I had a veggie pita wrap with feta which I thought was delicious. The deserts looked excellent even though I was too full to indulge. Highly recommend!

Old Hamlin has an old fashioned breakfast offering that is very tasty and very reasonably priced. The fresh fruit bowl is just that FRESH fruit and a lot of it. Coffee is fresh and hot. The service is friendly and warm.
