My husband and I had lunch here on recommendation from a AAA auto club employee. Hostess was not friendly as we entered and were seated. I ordered a chicken salad sandwich which arrived on dry wheat bread. I ordered the sandwich on rye so the server gave me two slices of rye and I was expected to transfer the lettuce... More

Been here countless times and its the only place i go for breakfast when I am in the Leland area. Cute dinner with the Northern Michigan feel.

Nothing special here other than the cinnamon roll appetizer. Salad bar looked unappealing, so I didn't get a salad even though I was really wanting one! Soup options were poor as well.

Had a bite to eat here after visiting the national park. My husband and I both ordered the white fish sandwich. I had them leave the bread off of my sandwich. The fish was paper thin and not tasty. Not impressed with the food or the cleanliness of the restaurant. Would not go back. Sorry ;(

I recently went to Bluebird with a large group (11 people) and we were served very quickly with EXCELLENT food... We had a bit of a time crunch but we were served and given our checks extremely quickly considering our large group size... I would 100% recommend Bluebird to anyone visiting Leland

Every time we visit northern Michigan we stop for dinner at Bluebird. It's a traditional restaurant, family owned since the 20's. They are very welcoming to families. Good service, too. The food is tasty but not fancy. If you are looking for good fish or a steak, this is the place for you. The salad bar just adds to its... More

We found this a great place to hide from the rain. Bloody Mary's are pretty good. The bar service was good as well..

We have been coming here for thirty years, and it is still our favorite. They have consistently excellent service and food. The lightly pan fried "Blue bird style" whitefish is fantastic, and the pea salad is the best. I dream about this place all winter, and I cannot wait until summer comes for my whitefish fix. No one does whitefish... More

We are local and typically eat in the bar vs. restaurant when visiting this restaurant. I love that you can order the salad bar or order off of the fancy menu from the bar side. The restaurant is split. Be warned that they pretty much nickel-dime ya for most everything on their menu--you want tomato, cheese, onion, etc with that... More

Visiting The Bluebird is practically a right of passage on any visit to the Leelanau Peninsula. The restaurant's history alone is worth the visit. We recently stopped in for an off-season lunch. Nothing spectacular, and the restaurant portion of the place, which overlooks the river, wasn't open for the season yet, but it was still a good time. Had a... More
