I always purchase my lunch here when in Leland. For this visit I had the daily special. It was a turkey and cheddar cheese with apples sandwich on a pretzel bun. The apple added a delicious sweet crunch. The pretzel bun had sea salt baked into the dough and that combination was so good!

This is our third visit to Fishtown in Leland MI, and each time we grab a box lunch at the Village Cheese Shanty as well as a bottle of wine. Love Fishtown atmosphere and always like the food we pick up from the Village Cheese Shanty.

Great place to have a quick lunch while visiting Fishtown. The sandwiches are delicious and the selections are pretty good with a usual daily special. My only disappointment was there was no fish sandwich on the menu.

The best sandwiches. After having been with relatives years ago, this was a must on our week long trip to the area.

We had the Leland sandwich and it was good. The service was quick and the staff was friendly. A marketing suggestion for the Village Cheese Shop would be to get some smoked fish from Carlson's. Smoked fish on a sandwich would be awesome IMHO

The sandwiches were really good. The wait was not that long even though it was busy. I looooved the cookies so much! We also got some root beer in glass bottles so that was nice. It was also very affordable. Highly recommend!

We ordered take out for nine people and there was an hour and ten minute wait. Glad we knew how popular this place is so it was not a shock. It was ready five minutes early...fantastic. We all ordered different things, the Orchard was great but didn't care for it's wrap so one of the guys changed his bread for... More

Great sandwiches made with great ingredients. Fresh and always good. Great to be able to grab a pack of cheese curds when picking up lunch! Super busy, especially in peak season. Always good to order ahead. The locals count the days until this shoppe opens and sheds a tear the day it closes for the season.

Maybe it's the New Yorker in me that was not impressed by this infamous pretzel bread. I thought it was okay, but not that soft or chewy.. Didn't taste that fresh to me. I inquired about what type of chicken they used here.. As I am very particular about my meats.. and I was told it was fresh grilled breasts..... More

The Food was ok , the Best Part of it , is where it is - you can sit outside the Historic Fishtown eat your sandwich , we felt though without its location it was kinda just a sandwich
