Their sandwiches are so delicious... I've been craving their pretzel bread since our last visit over Labor Day.
This small shanty in Fishtown has wonderful sandwiches on their own signature pretzel bread rolls. Bummer is that they are only for the sandwiches and not sold individually. Nice selection of local cheeses. The two year cheddar is delicious. There are also wines and other beverages to make this a spot to pick up picnic goodies before taking a ferry... More
The sandwiches here are among the best any where we travel. It is one of the reasons why we travel many miles to visit here every summer that we are able. The North Shore sandwich is absolutely my favorite but everyone in my family has a different favorite. So amazing. We order early to avoid the lines!
Can't believe we've never done it before. After looking through the reviews we went to fish town planning for a picnic. We heard great things about the sandwiches, but as I cannot eat gluten, we usually had other eating plans. I took a couple slices of my own bread on which to reassemble my sandwich. When they realized what I... More
They have a fantastic menu of sandwiches made to order. They get quite busy so order early. Great selection of local wines and beers as well. All of the fixins you need for a picnic on Lake Michigan.
You can customized your sandwiches. Apparently the pretzel bun was popular but we chose the baguettes. The sandwiches were huge, really tasty. Go for the value meal around $8, you will get the sandwich, water/juice, a slice of pickle and a chocolate chip cookie. I just wished that they have more fish & seafood selections!
The Village Cheese Shanty (VCS), makes some of the best sandwiches I've ever had. With an online menu you can call your order in ahead of time if your going to the Manitou islands if you want. There is no charge for ingredient substitutions and is valued at a good deal.
Well deserving of the great reviews shown on this site. Lots of fresh quality fillings between the pretzel bread, in tasty combos. Not as many choices for the veggie crowd, but you can eat will be fresh and delish - also, the pretzel bread is not made with lard (as it is at Zingermans in A2). Eat well and eat... More
Make sure to bring cash, but they had great sandwiches. They were huge and neither of us finished ours. We spent $13 for two sandwiches and one bag of chips. They had lots of options and they were extremely busy. But good value and good food.
This is my go-to lunch spot every year I'm in Leland! There are many different, creative sandwiches sold at a very affordable price. The main attraction is the Pretzel Bread...which can be the base for any of the sandwich choices. HOWEVER, don't go if you are in a hurry! Service is slowwwwww. You can call your order ahead to cut... More
