Great Food!

We dined here on a Saturday evening foilowing a Michigan State football game. The food was great, but service was a little questionable. Yes, it was a busy night, but my goodness -- they know the home game schedule -- so schedule an extra wait staff person or two!!

El Az is great. We had 4 people dining. We started with a 1/2 of topopo salad as an appetizer that we shared. Then we all ordered variations of the burrito plate. Everybody said the burrito was fabulous. That is all that needs to be said!

Small old school restaurant, could use an update....however the meals are cheap and the food is good and the serving size is generous. Chips and salsa are complimentary...go for the hot! Quick friendly service. Daily specials.

First off it's dirty. The place is dinghy it really needs to be scrubbed and painted. I ordered the two burrito dinner. The burritos were low grade hamburger with some sauce and cheese wrapped up. I think it was cottage cheese. They seemed to use cottage cheese for lots of dishes. I guess I think of goat cheese at a... More

This is somewhat unusual Mexican restaurant, not run of the mill but very authentic. I love their huevos rancheros.

Being a vegetarian, we are limited as where to get Mexican. We get the Topopo Salad! Lettuce, peas, tomatoes, onions etc. over chips with guacamole, re fried beans with cheeses and many other things! Just an outstanding salad that is a real meal in itself! It was a favorite of my sister when she lived up here in Lansing.

It's fair to say that the pickings in mid Michigan are fairly slim when it comes to good dining options. I think I've been going to the Lansing branch of El Az for about 25 years and it's really just not what are used to be. Our beloved cheese dip is changed, less diced jalapeños and no scallions. The spicy... More

Sangria was delicious! Service was fast and hospitable. Two locals recommended this restaurant and we are glad we took the time to visit. Salsa was spicy and fantastic as well!

Joined others to eat at El Azteco. We all had a good meal at a reasonable price. Everyone was happy with their meal. This is one of the better restaurant in downtown East Lansing if you are looking to eat in East Lansing. Would not give it 4 stars but 2 is more deserving.
