It has become tradition that the night before my brother-in-laws end their visit and return to Illinois, we eat at Ukai. It is fun to watch the hibatchi cook. The sushi and the various stir fries are delicious. Set week, my wife and I stopped just for two sushi rolls. Delicious and really hit the spot. The prices are reasonable.

Food here is always good. Both the Sushi and Hibachi have never let me down. Staff is very friendly, and the chefs are great. Their beer selection isn't anything special but they have the best bartenders in all of Lansing. They are drink mixing wizards. If you are brave just order a bartender special. Guaranteed to please!

I went on a Friday evening with a party of co-workers. We sat a one of the hibachi grills but I ordered sushi. Both the Eel Avodado and Lobster Tempura rolls I ordered were fabulous! Unfortunately our chef was very difficult to understand, a little clumsy and not all that entertaining. I felt kind of badly for those who had... More

Stayed next door at the Fairfield Inn, so it was convenient to just run next door on a cold night. It was after 9:00 and the hibachi grill was about to close but they put an order in for us anyway. Sat in the sushi bar and didn't go through the whole hibachi show, but got one hibachi meal and... More

Wonderful sushi served by the best waitress in any sushi place in Lansing. She runs the place along with the rest of the staff and despite being crazy busy, she's always friendly, fast and accurate. The rolls are top notch. One of the best tuna rolls we've ever had. Lots of excellent tuna. The rest of the rolls are excellent... More

Ukai has amazing lunch specials. You can get up to 3 Maki Combo Rolls for $11 with amazing quality. I also recommend their Habachi grill, great family place.

I was impressed by their selection of sushi rolls. There was something for everyone. We also had hibachi. It was also pretty good. I'd go back.

At here with some co-workers and it was an average hibachi experience. The prices were actually very reasonable, our average bill was about $30 including tip. And that's after upgrading to fried rice ($2) and from sirloin to fillet ($2.50). If you've never done hibachi, the experience is a must, especially for little kids. But if you've done it before,... I was reluctant to come to Ukai. I have been to Benihana & it was very disappointing & expensive. At least Ukai is not as expensive, but the quality of the food is the same. People come for the performance, not the food, which is just some veggies & meat doused with soy sauce. Instead, I ordered sushi. Ukai is... More
