Great Surprise !! Very GOod

The service is fast and friendly. The food is fresh and delivered by a helpful and friendly wait staff. Food is generous portions - had the burrito which was enough for two. The JL Hudson Maurice is cutely named and also quite good.

We held our company holiday get together at this establishment. The food was fantastic, looked great upon presentation, prices were good too. I had fish & chips which was tasty, others had brisket dinner, wings platter, hot roast beef sandwich.. and more. The homemade coconut cream pie was to die for!!! My daughter had the stir fry.. it was the... More

We had a hearty breakfast to fuel our 30 mile ride in the Iceman Cometh Challenge. The Trout and Eggs breakfast was great and the French toast was coated in cornflakes. Very tasty! Service was quick and our coffee cup never was empty.

Had the cod and it was good. The place is your typical family owned small place. It is rather dark inside and the bar takes center stage.

This was our first visit. The food was delicious! Three of us got burgers and they were very good. My Dad got the wet burrito and said it was better than the one he had at another restaurant the day before. The service was good. Very nice place. Want to go back some time.

Everything was great. We had the brisket which is excellent. The wine list is eclectic with local and other varieties. They even had Petoskey Brewing Horny Monk on draft.

My wife and I were passing thru Kalkaska and stopped for lunch at Trout Town Cafe. We were both delighted in the menu and the interior of the cafe. The service was very good and the food was very good also. We will stop again for sure!

Made my first visit last evening, and had a hard time choosing what to try. I had a chicken/artichoke/pasta dish (name escapes me) that was something I've never seen before and was so delicious! I will for sure return to Trout Town on my next trip to Kalkaska, to try the other menu items that tempted me.

The dish your talking of is called "Chicken Tosca". Breaded chicken on a bed of Pappardelle pasta with Artichoke hearts covered in a Garlic Lemon Cream sauce. This is 1 of my personal favorites. I'm so glad you liked it. Stop by again soon. Thank you. More
