Lots of carbs

Visited friends in Kalamazoo, and went to Rykse's twice for pies, which were good. Tried the lunch and was sorely disappointed. Didn't read the reviews about the lunch menu before so was surprised when the oven crunchy chicken arrived - a small cassette tape size piece of breaded chicken, half a... read more

Wish it was open for dinner also. We had a group lunch there. Everyone had different soup sandwich combinations. Was yummy

We stopped for breakfast before we began our trip home to the east. The cinnamon buns are a meal & a half by themselves and they are delicious. My wife had one and I had a breakfast bowl that included ham, potatoes, and some veggies. It was good and we shared the two items. Coffee I hot and endless. Definitely... More

I walked in this morning and you know it isn't right walking by all of the gooey breakfast goodness, on the way to the line to be seated. I was immediately seated and Josh was an excellent waiter. My first choice was a Cherry Muffin, it was to die for and I couldn't wait for my food. My drink was... More

I had lunch there today with my family. I learned something. Always ask for a booth. The tables have very uncomfortable wood chairs, while the booths are fairly comfortable. I had the salmon sandwich with coleslaw. It was very good. Service was good. There is a bakery too, and their deserts are good. But you won't have room for desert.... More

I like going here for breakfast, granted there will be a wait on weekends no matter what. The food is above an average IHOP and the menu varies with a few new dishes every few months which is nice. But they run out of their legendary cinnamon rolls two hours before breakfast is over without fail, which is a negative... More

Good option for morning breakfast, but has a few problems. They always seem to be out of cinnamon rolls, the menu is full of spelling errors, when requesting a booth, they forgot about us and seated people who came after us in a booth first. Food is generally good, but some attention to detail would improve this eatery.

This is very popular among older folks in the area. Lots of carbohydrates here, more fat than spice. It's not a bad place, but I can't imagine why one would choose it except for portion size and the choice of traditional dessert items.

We went for lunch. Sandwiches from $9.29 to $9.79. Nice meals from $10.29: Roast Turkey, Roast Beef, to Salmon at $12,99 with mashed potatoes, gravy (all you want, ask for a side), stuffing, veggie of the day, and hot out of the oven dinner rolls!, I had the California Club: roast turkey, tasty bacon, tomato, leaf lettuce, avacado, and guacamole.... It's been awhile since I ate at Rykses. My smoked salmon salad over spinach greens with strawberry, mandarin oranges and a perfect dressing, was refreshing and exactly what I was after. The wait staff was also excellent . . . But what's happening there? It used to be top-notch in every way, but now the booths are lumpy and uncomfortable,... More
