I was attending a meeting downtown Kalamazoo when i heard Food Dance Cafe has great food and wonderful atmosphere, I decided to give it a try. Really glad I did. The food was great, atmosphere trendy, comfortable, enjoyable. They serve wonderful house made creative organic ice teas, great vegetarian and meat selections. Coffee house coffees and a nice wine list.... More

We heard good things about Food Dance so we called and made reservations. We arrived a few minutes early so we expected to wait a bit. We were told it would be 10 minutes. Thirty minutes later we were told it would be 10 minutes. We ginally got a table. We felt the food was just OK; but considering the... More

Having lived in Kzoo early in FD history was looking forward to returning during a visit with friends. Sadly, IMHO, it was better before they expanded. Our waiter was lazy, the menu was interesting and creative;but the food was cold, not tasty and a big disappointment. Going back to Kzoo soon and will not return to food dance.

Food Dance has a modern feel to it, and we felt at home right away. The menu had so many great looking items on it that ordering was a challenge. The farm to table items that we chose were all delicious. Try the curry popcorn chickpeas, their artisinal cheeses, the French twist or the Argentinean steak. They were all standouts!

I've been to Food Dance Twice; once with a large group and once with 2. Very good food and the service is great. Had to ask for bread the second time, and it was all the same kind. The first time I went it was a variety, but there were more people at our table. I guess they treat you... More

The menu is creative, and much of the ingredients locally sourced. There's a good variety of food on the menu, and everything that came out was well prepared and well presented. This is a great place for breakfast, brunch, lunch or dinner.

I was here for a business dinner, in a private dining room. We walked through the public rooms, which are open and attractive, and went to a smaller space that was decorated with gorgeous murals. The wine list was good for both glass and bottle selections, and the drinks menu was interesting. Since Kalamazoo is a boutique brewery heaven, I... More

If you want cheap eats, keep driving. This restaurant strives to use fresh, healthy ingredients. We started off with a ginger-mint-lemonade that was homemade, very refreshing. I had a Bloody Mary made with homemade vegetable juice, a little too asparagusy for my liking, but it's in season. On to the appetizer of meat and cheese, you select your your meats... More

Food is good, service is good, restaurant is clean, but the prices can't be ignored. When your orange juice costs over $4, I don't care how fresh it is. And I get it, all restaurants do this with soda, charging way more than a 2-liter at the store, but I'd rather this trend not start for everything on the menu.

The bread, black beans and breakfast were excellent. We have enjoyed this restaurant in the past. Our visit yesterday surprised me when I was served "pieces/parts" chicken. I expected breast meat for $12. Very disappointed. Trying to slip this by me was a mistake and way beneath the former stds of this restaurant. We'll look for new places in Kzoo... More
