The Kalamazoo Beer Exchange is a two-story multi-tap bar and grill located in the beautifully restored Globe Building in downtown Kalamazoo. Offering 28 rotating draught beers from around the world, The Exchange begins at 6 p.M., Where draught beers are based on real-time sales, like the stock market. Occasional "market crashes" will occur daily, dropping beer prices to their all-time low. The Kalamazoo Beer Exchange also offers a menu of interestingly prepared classic pub fare. Classic dishes will be made new again from the Bar Plates to the Main Fare and the open kitchen design will allow you to see just how "hand-made" the food really is.

Stopped in for a beverage

I have always loved the atmosphere. I decided to sit at the bar downstairs where it is less formal. Bartender immediately approached us and took our drink order while asking if we wanted to order food. Service was good a beer selection was diverse. I have always had a good experience here.

Decided to spend some time here seeing what it was about. Had some delicious Beer cheese soup and split a fried bologna sandwich while my husband tried some beers. When the beer market crashes all the beers drop drastically in price- pretty neat place.

Went here past Saturday for a birthday party of 15. We arrived at 6:45 and was told would be a hour wait. After 55 mins checked with hostess (we were stand in lobby area in plain sight) she stated that we could do four four top tables, that could not be combined, we decided to keep waiting. After 15 more... More

I'm told this is the only place that does this. What a fun idea, in a great downtown location. Nice staff and good vibe. A must try if you are in town.

Great food, amazing service and great prices! Hang around long enough and the market will crash, half priced beer/cidre!

I have wanted to go to KBE for a while, and finally took the plunge. I went because of the beer exchange format and my love for craft beers. I was pleasantly surprised by the food. There was a good selection of items on the menu. My search was flavorful and cooked just right. I would go back, and recommend... More

I went with friends on a Saturday night. It was packed, with a fun vibe. During the market crashes, the beers are a fantastic bargain, and the prices were great overall (especially compared with Chicago bars). But I would recommend against eating dinner there. The menu was ambitious, but the food was way underseasoned and just not very good. I... More

All on recommendations did we go to this place. The concept is great. Plenty of TV for sports to watch of you want that atmosphere. We went upstairs and sat and ate. Although I had to tell the bar ten-dress what I liked and she translated that into a "oh, then you would like ..." rather than having a little... More

Enjoy the great beer selection and many craft beers. Great atmosphere and good staff. Enjoyed the knowledgeable staff and the wonderful recommdations. The food was fine. I don't think patrons come here for the food. Enjoy the brew!
