The Kalamazoo Beer Exchange is a two-story multi-tap bar and grill located in the beautifully restored Globe Building in downtown Kalamazoo. Offering 28 rotating draught beers from around the world, The Exchange begins at 6 p.M., Where draught beers are based on real-time sales, like the stock market. Occasional "market crashes" will occur daily, dropping beer prices to their all-time low. The Kalamazoo Beer Exchange also offers a menu of interestingly prepared classic pub fare. Classic dishes will be made new again from the Bar Plates to the Main Fare and the open kitchen design will allow you to see just how "hand-made" the food really is.

This unique establishment is housed in an old (warehouse/office?) building which is a cool start. But then the atmosphere is designed to mimic a beer stock exchange. The price board shows you all the beers available and how they are trending in price based on current purchases. Then, if you stay long enough, the market crashes and all the beer... More

We stopped in the Beer Exchange upon a recommendation from a friend and we were warmly welcomed at the entrance and given the option to sit upstairs or go downstairs. We choose downstairs and had an awesome waitress who explained the "beer exchange" concept to us as it wasn't yet time for it to start. She was very enthusiastic and... More

The downtown beer scene in Kalamazoo is freakin amazing and the Beer Exchange is at the top of the list. Sooo much to try and sooo good. My beer battered fish and chips with a pint of Indian Brown put me into a culinary coma of nirvana 😀

Beer Exchange is a fun place to go with friends. Watch for when the market crashes! Lively atmosphere. Good food. Great selection of beer. Pool tables downstairs Definitely stop here if you're in the area.

Loved the atmosphere, the way the beer prices change like the stock market and the food! Our server was great as well. Very enjoyable, make sure you get there for happy hour!

Some of the best service I've ever had. The bartender (Robert) was very gracious and honestly the friendliest bartender I've ever met. Rest of the wait staff seemed equally as pleasant. The notion of beer prices as stocks seemed like a gimmick but it was actually fun to watch and exciting to buy during a crash. Was only in for... More

The stock market concept is so unique! Didn't think it was possible to get so excited about the process of ordering a beer. The food was fantastic! Highly recommend the pork chop and sautéed perch. Friendly wait staff to top it all off. Would definitely recommend this as a stop while in Kalamazoo!

Nice atmosphere, your friends will like the idea of the price drops and for a market crash (chance to buy that expensive beer cheep). Then order a round.

This restaurant does not serve food that conforms to conventional flavors. They make many of their own sauces and do not use frozen foods. In spite of the name here I've NEVER had a beer in this place but we really like the flavors. The chicken salad pita is great, the Croque Monsieur is very tasty. I like the meat... More
