The Kalamazoo Beer Exchange is a two-story multi-tap bar and grill located in the beautifully restored Globe Building in downtown Kalamazoo. Offering 28 rotating draught beers from around the world, The Exchange begins at 6 p.M., Where draught beers are based on real-time sales, like the stock market. Occasional "market crashes" will occur daily, dropping beer prices to their all-time low. The Kalamazoo Beer Exchange also offers a menu of interestingly prepared classic pub fare. Classic dishes will be made new again from the Bar Plates to the Main Fare and the open kitchen design will allow you to see just how "hand-made" the food really is.

Fun spot to bring your friends

Nice atmosphere, your friends will like the idea of the price drops and for a market crash (chance to buy that expensive beer cheep). Then order a round.

This restaurant does not serve food that conforms to conventional flavors. They make many of their own sauces and do not use frozen foods. In spite of the name here I've NEVER had a beer in this place but we really like the flavors. The chicken salad pita is great, the Croque Monsieur is very tasty. I like the meat... More

One of my favorite places to take someone from out of town. Beer Exchange uses a stock market concept to price their beer so you never know what you might be trying that night. Let the price dictate your choice and you will feel a little adventurous.

The concept of the bar is great, decent draft selection. The food is typical bar food (fried, fried and fried). Would avoid the fajita nachos (the homemade tortilla chips tasted stale and greasy, overpowered the accompanied flavors). Would go for drinks with friends or out of town guests, but dine elsewhere.

The food here is good, but the KBE burger is GREAT! We order it with fries, and my husband and I usually share it. We like to sit at the bar so we can try different beers and talk to the bartender about the different kinds. It's really a nice lunch spot as well as a light night hangout...even for... More

Absolutely great atmosphere for lunch or upscale apps. Solid beer menu and should my travels bring me to the are again it is a must stop! Try the chicken salad in a grilled pita, you will not be disappointed

As others explained, beer prices fluctuate like stock market prices, and when the bell rings, it's a "crash" and you'll get your best deal. Timing is everything! Food is very good with vegan and vegetarian options, and the friendly servers are very knowledgable about the menu and beer offerings

Was in Kalamazoo for business and love craft beer. Hotel desk thought I'd like the Exchange and they were right. The theme is based on the stock exchange - there are 15 minute "trading periods" and the beer prices change each period. And periodically the "beer market" CRASHES and all the prices drop! And it turns into a feeding frenzy... More
