Called in here last night for an early supper. Car park and pub full to bursting point. Ordered lobster salad and it was great, lots of variety on the plate but nothing to overpower the scrumptious lobster. Ate outside, not something I would usually do but that's the price we had to pay for not booking!

Called in at this gem of a traditional pub today to meet friend's, have a crack and enjoy a meal. We were not disappointed at all. We had chicken Korma and the canneloni - both of which were excellent and we would definitely recommend! We thought the price of the food was right in comparison to the quality of the... More

Enjoyed two meals here whilst staying locally. Steak pie was the highlight. The beer is good with 5 Ales on draft which are kept well. worth booking a table at busy times.

We visited this pub for a birthday meal as it had been recommended and we had not been before. The food took a good 45 minutes to arrive even though it wasn't busy and all 4 meals were average. I thought they should've been priced around £8.00-£9.00 each so they were around 25% overpriced imo. After the meals had arrived... More

My friends and I visited this Pub/Restaurant because traffic had prevented the chef at our preferred venue, from arriving (he was already an hour late when we turned up at his bar) The menu was quite varied for a Pub in "The Lakes",off the usual circuit. My friends,as Germans, picked the Cumberland sausage, with veg,and cleaned their plates.I had Chicken Korma, and had to... More

Off the beaten track, but well worth a visit. One of our fave lakes places, great ales & good honest food, usual lakes tax, but relatively good value for money. Always good ales, & due to the location it's rarely packed out.

This is one of those pubs that you stumble across and get the feeling that the locals love it as much as the tourists. We visited on a Saturday night and by about 6:30 it was packed with all sorts of people - family groups, couples, people on their own after enjoying their day's walking, the pub had a lovely... More

We stayed for three nights on the Black Beck caravan park and walked up to the pub, not intending to go in as we only had £5 between us! We decided to have one drink as it was a lovely day and we sat outside enjoying the beautiful views. Half an hour later, and realising that we could pay by... More
