Great college town

Holland has plenty of Dutch history and sits right on Lake Macatawa. Hope College shares a big part of the downtown and is a very pretty campus. Nice place to spend a weekend.

We visited during the Holland tulip festival. Was quite disappointed to see the lack of tulips throughout the town of Holland - expected lots more!!!! The town appeared very nice, but all we saw of it was the tulip Parade which was long and repetitive. More bands would have been welcome.

We like the downtown area quite a bit but, you also have to check out the Dutch Village as well. Also, some of the better places to eat are away from the downtown area. If you want to see a lot of the area, be ready to use your car. The town is quite well spread out. We will go... More

Lovely place to walk a bit, a lot of shops to look at from food to cloth and souvenirs. I really like the place with some tables out to enjoy the nice weather; it did feel European.

Was not sure upon arrival how Holland would stack up compared to South Haven and Saugatuck but it definitely held its' own. Wish it wasn't as spread out, hated being in the car.

A great little town for shopping and people watching. We loved the downtown. Nice shops but go away from downtown for food.

We only spent a day and a half here so we didn't experience a lot. What we did see is a lot of strip malls, lots of banks, the downtown shopping district, the nice art shops and the mediocre restaurants. I wasn't expecting Chicago nor NYC since it is a small-ish Michigan town. I just expected something a little better.... More

What a beautiful downtown area. We were lucky to find a parking spot right in the middle and were able to do a lot of the shops. Wonderful gift shops line the streets along with restaurants. I even saw an outside fireplace with seating around it! Would love to spend more time there on another, less busy day.

Thank Darlene K
