We visited Black Rock on 1/22 for a large business dinner of about 25 people. Danielle our waitress was attentive, helpful and fun to interact with. The food (Filet & Lobster) was incredible and the quality superb. Everyone enjoyed the experience and I highly recommend this bar & grill to anyone wanting a unique steak experience.

At 7 o'clock on a Friday night we arrived for my daughter's birthday dinner. We had made reservations a week earlier for 11 people. When we arrived the hostess said 'I'm sorry we have no reservation for you.' When we explained our situation a young man at the front desk said "Let me see what I can do". Luck or... More

We had tried this place when it first opened and weren't really impressed with food. Went back again a year later and ordered 6oz. sirloin which comes with the béarnaise sauce. Excellent and we loved it. The secret I found was that you have to cut up your meat and get it off the rock and on the side tray... More

Good food and good service but the place is very crowded and very loud. I guess that is because it is so popular. They don't have to put the tables so close together. There was some confusion about reservations. I'll go back for sure but will pick a less crowded time.

Stopped here for lunch, quite by chance. My wife and I each ordered filets with sides of bleu cheese wedge, and asparagus for her and sweet potato fries for me. The sides were excellent! The steak on a rock was a new and pleasant experience. Caitlis, our server, was very helpful in showing us how to cook the meat. Kinda... More

The Black Rock is a great for steak as you cook it your self. if you can get sit in their Wine room it is very cozy. A lot spots to watch sports in the main dinning room. A very good lunch offering at reasonable prices..

The steak on a rock was good but the fish and chips was so greasy it was inedible. It's certainly not cozy or romantic so spending this kind of money for a date night, no. I'd give it a C overall.

The Black Rock is a very popular restaurant in Hartland, Mi. It's very busy most nights and extremely so on the weekends, so wait times can be extensive. The food is high quality and priced accordingly. Good variety on the menu and the bar and servers are very good. Their "gimmick' is that you can prepare your own steak on... More

This place is ALWAYS busy. That should tell you all you need to know. I am a multiple repeat customer. Steaks are always good. I enjoy the concept of cooking each piece of your steak to your liking. They have added more taps and have some excellent craft beer choices. Service is inconsistent. As their name says, this is a... More
