Menu is well thought out; wait staff consistently professional and efficient. My favorite Harbor Springs restaurant!
My wife had the filet of beef and I had the pork chop. We also had the duck egg rolls. Every thing was excellent! And the service was perfect! We will definitely return.
We try to go here every time we are in Harbor Springs. Wonderful decor in this old hotel plus great service and food. We highly recommend the restaurant and the town.
Driving two hours to have dinner with family at the New York was interesting. The lobster soup was wonderful. The salad, wedge, was out standing. Then we come to the main entree. I had the Salmon and it was average. Way over cooked and dry. I was totally disappointed for this type of resturant to serve something like this.
We had our anniversary dinner here and it was enjoyable all the way around. October during the week made it a slower time to be here, I'm sure. Arrived at 5 and got a good table for two. We were placed in the corner room with all the windows. Good food and good service in a cool old building. By... More
After a long day of exploring Harbor Springs and Petoskey, we decided to try the New York for dinner. I felt a bit underdressed in the elegant dining room, but the staff and owner welcomed us like old friends. After a month of trying to eat well and be a vegetarian, the filet mignon knocked me right off the wagon.... More
This restaurant masquerades as fine dining, but I support the northern Michigan phrase "casual fine dining" truly applies. While you enter to napkins in glasses and are handed a full wine menu, all the customers are casually dressed and relaxed (most are tourists). The food is fantastic. Every member of my family loved what they ordered. One had the speciality... More
My husband and I travel and dine out extensively, so something really has to stand out in order to prompt a review. What stood out here was the service. We were not dressed for an upper end restaurant - still in hiking clothes as our activities for the day were rained out, and we all know that sometimes appearances make... More
The NewYork on a Friday night in Harbor Springs is a place to see and be seen. Especially a fashionably late 8:00PM dinner. Jerry is a terrific waiter, seems sincere, and comes complete with the NYC accent. Everything about the meal is acceptable in conjunction with the price. Not too expensive, but fair enough for the time/place. I had the... More
Being a local I eat here more then I should. This is what you hope for when going to a small town for dinner. The staff is very well trained by the General Manager Bill, who is the smiling face that greets you at the door. The menu is varied and safe, the food is reliable and decent. Specials can... More
