Best food on polish town

Best food on polish town! The sausage is outstanding and so are the pierogies! The schnitzel is mouthwatering and their potato pancakes are made to perfection! They also have the best pickle soup ever.

I haven't had Polish food this good and this well prepared in years! The Polish Plate is definitely the way to go for a generous taste of many specialties. All are authentically prepared and wonderfully tasty. The Keilbasa is the best I've had since my last visit to Chicago, the stuffed cabbage, pierogis and sauerkraut are just like Grandma's. I... This is our favorite place when we want polish food like Grandma used to make. I always get the polish plate which is a great variety, my husband loves their city chicken. Everything is so yummy tasting.

This is a jewel of a place tucked into the tiny Polish enclave in Hamtramck! This downstairs, cozy café has wonderful homemade soups, salads and Polish food. My favorite the Taste of Poland with a stuffed cabbage, Pierogi, Kielbasa and kraut served with your choice and soup or salad and great rye bread. Visit Krakow without leaving Detroit!!

It gets quite busy here on a Saturday night when we visited so be prepared to wait for a table. The staff were all quite friendly considering they were worked off their feet. The food was good. In all honesty, I have had better but it was good enough that I don't think you would be disappointed.

I always rely on Tripadvisor when I am in a part of town I'm unfamiliar with. Boy, were the reviews correct again. A very old school charming place. This is what finding an unknown gem is all about. Great food, fun and we enjoyed sitting at the bar. We will return with our Polish friends!

If your looking for great polish food this is the place! All the food is fresh made so come in early. I had the Hungarian Potato pancake with pork. Please be aware this place takes cash only. Oh you have to try the pickle soup. We will be back.

My honey and I were in Detroit for Valentine's Day and decided to do something different and head to Hamtown for some good polish food vs. fighting the crowds for a fancy expensive meal. Tucked away on a small residential street one (maybe) block from the Main Street lies this adorable old school restaurant. From the other reviews, I don't... More

Out of the record February COLD, and into the warm welcoming arms of the waitstaff downstairs in a favorite lunch spot. This was a great way to welcome in the weekend. The soup selection is ALL good, especially to salve to Polar Cold: Mushroom that has a thin broth, not creamy, but oh, so solid a mushroom taste; Beet that... More

I have always wanted to eat here. The tripadvisor reviews were amazing, as were the comments at numerous other sites. Since I was raised outside of Pittsburgh in a Polish/Slovak neighborhood, I definitely wanted to give their Polish food a try. I cannot remember when I've enjoyed myself as much as I did at the Polish Village Cafe! Now, I... More
