This was our first stop on a mini food tour of Detroit and area. The best came first! A little spot tucked away in a sketchy area... Step down into the pub like basement with low ceilings and Polish memorabilia and pictures. We had the sample plate - I loved the cabbage rolls. We also had a side of perogi,... More

Only had to wait for 30 minutes for a big party of 12 of us. Atmosphere was great, food came out fast and we had a great humble server. Potato Pancakes were AMAZING as well as the pierogis!! (Definatley order them) My meal was so big I ate it the next 2 days for dinner as well :)

Polish Village Cafe has the feel of a neighborhood bar and an old world European restaurant all rolled into one. You enter at street level and walk down the stairs to the dimly lit dining area, which is reminiscent many European restaurants or perhaps your uncle's basement. The place was packed, I've never been here when it wasn't, but the... More

All the Polish standards are on the menu: Stuffed cabbage, smoked kielbasa, fresh Keilbasa in beer sauce, zrazy, flaczki (tripe soup) and czarnina (duck blood soup). I ordered a delicious pickled dill soup and sweet cheese, kraut, and potato pierogies. The pierogies were too doughy for my taste, but I don't profess to know much about polish food. I loved... There were two goals for this visit; I wanted to (1) remind myself of the food we had in Poland a year ago; and (2) explore Detroit, which we have neglected although we live in Michigan. Polish Village Cafe fully satisfied both goals. It has the authentic feel of a Bistro in Europe. The food is good, authentic and in... More

Well if you need your polish food fix this is the place. As usual I like sitting at the bar and it was the best. First drinking the Polish Vodka "Luksusowa" ! We had first the beet and bean soup mmm good. Dinner we had the assorted palate with a taste of all the polish dishes. Now for desert we... More

Stopped in with friends for lunch. This was our 1st visit, thanks to the recommendations of our friends. We got the Polish Sampler. The food was great, the prices were very reasonable for what you got, and our waitress, Kasia, was worth the visit. She made everything very pleasant for us.

First time visitors. We had heard this was the place to eat when in Hamtramck! So true! We had a delightful meal starting with a variety of their soups. Dill Pickle was my choice and a great decision. There was Cabbage, Chicken Noodle & Beet... All were very good. Food served promptly, and all were very tasty. StuffedCabbage, Schnitzle, Warsaw... the food was awesome, the décor makes you feel like your in the Hofbrau back in central Europe, they only accept cash. but the restaurant serves great kraut, perogis, stuffed cabbage and the pickle soup taste much better than it sounds.
