Both of my grandmothers were polish, and their cooking is something I miss most. Christmas has always consisted of pierogies and sausages, and while I didn't appreciate all of the cabbage when I was younger, it's something I can't get enough of now. I brought my parents here, and both of them said it reminded them of family meals when... More

I grew up in Hamtramck back in the early 60s, my polish grandmother use to cook meals very much like the meals served at the Polish Village Cafe. This is a little place tucked back off the main street but well worth the hunt. It is one of my favorite places to eat. The women cook many of the meals... More

I'm not Polish but I've grown to love Polish food over the past few years. We stopped here on our way home from Petoskey (visit the Polish Kitchen if you go there - also an excellent place for good food). We got there after what we thought would be the lunch rush but they were still pretty busy. You park... More

For a minute I thought we were on SNL "Cheese Burger - Cheese Burger" or Seinfeld's "Soup Natzi" shows. Good thing we had a sense of humor and rolled with the punches. The food was above average. The cheesecake was the best! Warning: Cash/Check only!Unfortunately, we will not return.

Food is good especially for the price. Service is so-so. Nice selection of dishes from Poland. President Clinton ate there once!!!!!!

Visited the Polish village Cafe just this past Saturday (8/2/14)... thinking it'll be good Polish cuisine... and making the move especially given the 4-dot status given by TripAdvisor. I hope this only happened during my visit and no one else shared same experience... anyway, the short version follows. The positives: - prices are OK; - restaurant is chique, has a... More

Yum! I hadn't been to Polish Village in years but when my cousin was visiting from Chicago I thought this would be in keeping with our Polish genealogy theme! It was rather an adventure driving there but parking was no problem. The staff was friendly. I will disagree with other reviews- I didn't find the atmosphere to be quaint or... More

The Polish Village Cafe is a step back in time. As you walk the first few steps downstairs to enter the cafe, you know you are about to begin a dining experience. The delicious smells of Polish food, the chatter of the patrons, the hustle of the work staff and the "Old Country" atmoshere make this a favorite stop for... More

I'm biased. I grew up in a Polish family with a Babcia that showered us in homemade periogis, kapusta, meatballs and sang Sto-Lat every year on our birthdays. The one colossal mistake was I never learned her recipes before she passed away. Polish Village is the closest we have to my Babcia's cooking.
