Why did they have to change?

The poor Hill, although it's one of the better restaurants in the Pointes, it changed the decor and configuration of the dining area and bar. It's no longer a gathering spot for and over 35 crowd, but now a loud bar making it difficult to dine in the open seating. I recommend the Chicken Milanese... read more

My husband and I ate lunch at this restaurant on Feb 8, 2016 and the food was delicious. There was a special of a cup of soup and 1/2 of a panini sandwich with maple roasted ham, yellow pepper, tomato, onion and cheese ($10). We each ordered the special and the panini sandwich was absolutely delicious. I asked the server... More

Went for dinner with friends. Such a beautiful facility! Especially now at Christmas time. The place was hopping! We had a lovely time. Nice salad, but entrees arrived shortly after our salads. Since we weren't finished with our salads our entrees were cold. I had their signature dish...hill of perch. Tasty, but cold. Don't enjoy cold mashed potatoes. Others had... More

Dinner with friends on a Saturday night. The service was good although our server was a little too "chatty". I had a filet and it was cooked perfectly but my husband ordered the braised short ribs but was disappointed as they were pretty tough. When desert came, the chocolate cake was inedible (it was taken off of the bill) because... More

This is not what I expected. There are some nice elegant options, but the food was just so-so, not the level I had anticipated. I thought the soup was good, but not unbelievably delicious and the portabella was good, but I have made better at home.

The Hill has become an enduring tradition in the Grosse Pointes. The restaurant is physically inviting and was recently redecorated. Some have not appreciated the renovation; we feel it was a positive step in the right direction. Our latest visit was a last minute decision and we were delighted we chose to go to The Hill. The food continues to... More

I'm here almost weekly--alone, with boyfriend, after tennis with buddies. The food is wonderful--whether terrific entrees, great appetizers, lovely dinner salads with salmon, etc. Whatever Chef Derek makes is beautiful and interesting and delicious! The service is just right--attentive without hovering.

We used to covet a dinner at The Hill. Much has changed recently, and the Hill is not what it used to be. Sadly, they removed the wall between the bar and the dining room. While it provided more bar space, it encroached on the dining area - and not in a good way. You can't beat the martini special... More

Comfortable atmosphere and superior service make this our Restaurant for Special Occasions. The menu is sufficiently varied and the food is of universally high quality. We've never been disappointed at the Hill

Service is fantastic, and everything is always great! Decor is wonderful, there is nothing negative, and aside from great entree's, the BEST turkey burger in Detroit is here.
