Improved service and decor

Had dinner on Tuesday this past week. Had been a year since I was here last. Did the Three cheese French onion, the filet of beef l, and Macallan 12 followed by espresso. My guest had lobster bisque, Caesar salad, and pasta. Temp of food was much better than a year ago. Potatoes and carrots... read more

4/11/2015 Referred to The Hill to celebrate a quiet anniversary dinner...restaurant was crowded and noisy. Had an 8pm reservation, arrived 15 minutes early, had to wait 20 before being seated. Waitress stated they were too busy to satisfy my request for fried shrimp as opposed to scampi. The most disappointing incident was when the waitress saw our credit card on... More

Our expectations going in may have set us up for a mild failure. Now the service and decor were excellent, and the freshly baked bread with warm garlic butter drizzled on top which was a great start. Very knowledgable waitress provided valued input and added to the experience. Being a foodie the entrées were merely above average, something that I... More

Overall we were very happy with the staff and the food but like one of the other reviews, I made reservations on open table and since it was an anniversary dinner I asked to have a more intimate table and when we got there we were seated at a table next to the the entrance. There was a nice table... More

We had a get together with five friends for lunch. The portions were large enough to split. Menu selection was wonderful, service was great, and the new remodeling job is fabulous. I will definitely dine for lunch here again and dinner!

Pleasantly surprised. The atmosphere and decor is very masculine with a beautiful wood bar, black and white Buffalo plaid, and dark velvet drapes soften brick walls. Lovely. The food was served promptly and cooked to perfection. I highly recommend supporting this delicious little secret in the the Grosse Pointe's.

The hostess were very rude, we made reservations on open table we asked to sit in a booth they said no we would have to sit at this small table because we made the reservation online! Let me add, the restaurant was not crowded at all! We ended up eating at the bar because the bartenders were so nice!

Extremely pricely but the food was excellent and the service was good. When we arrived it appeared to be a lot of seniors that had money and sort of a cold atmosphere but they were very nice and warmed up to us. very good food!

The wife and I like to have a "date night" on a pretty regular bases, I put on a suit and she dolls up with a nice dress and heels. We selected the Hills for this adventure and could not have been happier. Although it was a Monday night the place was not dead and the people dining were all... More

We've enjoyed fare at The Hill many times with few disappointments. I look forward to the small plate Surf & Turf after one of their inventive starters or a seasonal salad. My husband often orders the perch, stacked high on a mountain of crisp haystack potatoes. Delicious! On our last visit I indulged in the cream puff dessert - can't... More
