The place had more than other brewing conpanies. It had a good choice of appetizers and the sandwiches were out of this world. Obviously it had a great selection of beer on tap and in the bottle I would highly recommend this place if you're looking for a fun place to eat in an atmosphere that is associated with top... More

Good food. Bar fare of sandwiches and appetizers, substantial and delicious. The beer is the big story though. I wasn't much of a beer drinker before, but I am having fun trying all kinds of craft beer now. I had Red's Rye & Crumudgeon and a sample of All Day IPA. Each was excellent and they sell individual bottles, so... More

Sandwich with pulled pork and ham was great! I had the roast beef and it was a little dry. On a cold night, there is a scramble for tables closest to the heat.

Came in on a Fri night, super crowded. Place was way bigger than I expected. We were lucky to find a couple leaving and took their seats at the bar. The beer was very good, and so was the cheese dip. Reasonably priced. Parking was a bit of a challenge, so be prepared to drive around the neighboring blocks to... More

One of the greatest crowds in Grand Rapids...there is no typical patron. Great beers made by people that love it...there is a brew for everyone. Good pub food and an atmosphere that is just pure fun.

My husband and I took the Founders Brewery Tour. Our guide, Mike, shared many interesting facts about the brewery and its 13 year history. We walked the bottling, canning, packaging lines and most of the facility, seeing the many expansions and then enjoyed lunch on the patio. The broccoli cheese soup is very good as are their sandwiches. The beer... More

I'm so happy to hear you enjoyed your visit to the taproom! Nice work on scoring a case of Backwoods as we sold out in record time this year. I will make sure to pass along your kind words to Mike and we hope to see you again soon! Thanks! More

I'm a mug club memember at this wonderful establishment, so maybe I'm a bit jaded ;). But I kid you not that I have used the following phrases in describing this place to friends and strangers alike. 1. Going to Founders to get some love, and 2. Best staff in town. If you are into history, Founders started another location... More

My husband and I have a rule: during warm weather we have to eat outdoors. Founders certainly meets that requirement in pretty much any kind of weather. Our last visit was on a warm sunny day and we rode our bikes there. But we were also there last October when it was about 40 degrees. With their heaters and fireplaces... More

It's always great when you go for the beer - only to discover they've got the greatest guacamole in the world. Seriously. As far as the brews go - we had roughly 18 to choose from. My wife went for the Rubaeus - which was amazing. I did a flight featuring: Dark Penance, Mosaic Promise (my favorite), their Porter (also... More
