Strange hours and long wait time for food will not deter me from giving this place 5 solid stars!! The owner/cook/server/chef/ is the nicest man you will meet and everything is so incredibly fresh, you will want to move in upstairs! You will leave the place stuffed and be surprised when someone tells you it was VEGAN!!! Unbelievable!

Little Africa is my favorite restaurant in GR. 1. The atmosphere is very cozy. 2. The owner greats you, creates the food, and cashes you out - what better way of knowing that your food is made with love. 3. The food is absolutely fantastic - not to mention such a unique and fun culinary experience. You get to eat... More

The most fun dinner place, started out with the tea. This is a MUST! As a self proclaimed tea snob it was the best tea I have ever had. Period. Because there are no forks or plates you get the coolest little dish of soap water to wash your fingers. Had the group platter, another must, this way you get... More

This is a place to go with friends and get the combination platter that has a little bit of everything. After washing your hands in the bowls of soapy water provided, you use bread to scoop the food off a communal platter. Spicy or mild? your choice. No alcohol. Good value

Wow, what a little gem of a restaurant. While it may look like a bit of a hole in the wall, the food is amazing. The owner takes great pride in his recipes and doesn't disappoint. The sampler platter, served in the traditional manner of eating with one's fingers, was crazy delicious. And definitely order the spiced hot tea...amazing!

I was always curious to see what Ethiopian food was all about. Today I found out. This place has excellent food. I had a select 4 combo. I ordered 4 thinking that not eating any meat I wouldn't be full. I could barely move after I was done eating. Try the Soy Curry, and don't forget to get the tea.... More

It's a tiny hole-in-the wall run by the owners. It is inexpensive. (and there are restaurant.com coupons available). Go witrh friends and do one of the sharing plates. We have have paid twice as much for half the quality at other places. Everything is beautifully seasoned and the service is friendly.

What a surprise to find authentic Ethiopian food in Grand Rapids. Absolutely delicious. The owner/chef was so gracious, and the atmosphere so welcoming. I ordered a 3-item combo and received so much that I couldn't possibly finish it all. Guava nectar was the perfect beverage to quench the fire of the spicier dishes.

The menu was confusing, BUT, we went with the group platter and it was delicious. Got to try every dish on the menu that way. It's not fancy, and my diet Coke came in a can at room temperature & no ice, BUT, I'd go back again! Definitely GO THERE if you're thinking about it. You won't regret it! The... More
