This place is in a strip mall, as someone mentioned before, but once inside, you would never know it. The staff is friendly, the place is clean with a nice ambiance, there is plenty of seating and the food is awesome. The salad dressing is great - I get onion and ginger together - yum! We had a fantastic night at Tokyo Grill. We went with a group and ordered at least 8 different sushi plates. The sushi is the best I've ever eaten - fresh and interesting combinations. I never thought I'd have such great sushi in GR! more

The sushi here is mediocre at best (same goes for Mikado). Not that I'm an expert but I've eaten at quite a few sushi bars in other cities and I was really unimpressed with this. Their hibachi is good though. For good sushi at a great price, try Shogun at 29th and Breton. more

This is just a strip mall Japanese restaurant. The sushi was absolutely not spectacular (and I've eaten at Katsu in LA, lots of SF places, and in Tokyo) and not even the best in GR. The suski and maki were not worth writing home about. They were good but not in any way spectacular. The tempura was not a smooth... more

i haven't been to any other sushi place in grand rapids that was a fresh and delicious as tokyo grill. a little pricey.. but i would rather pay premiums for top notch sushi. love it. more

Spicy tekka don, crunchy maki, roscoe maki, helluva maki, kosher maki, these are all awesome. The Spicy Tekka Don isn't a maki (or conventional sushi) it's shashimi tuna over a bed of sushi rice with a spicy mayo (i think) sauce. It's the best i've ever had anywhere. New York, Chicago, Las Vegas...ect. Even the salads are kickass. Seriously. Best... more
