Old School Bar & Grill

This is a cozy bar with the most friendly and helpful staff. Food is average but serviceable. I had the cod sandwich special with clam chowder. I ended up getting some cottage fries as a side for free as well. Not fine cuisine, but tasty bar food in a comfortable and neighborhood bar environment.

This down home restaurant has been a notable staple in Grand Rapids for at least the last 12yrs. They have GREAT burgers, I LOVE their Cottage Fries (cut in cubes and pan fried) and a good selection of bar type food fair. They also have a great beer selection. Effen love this place!!! Good for group of up to 6... More

Met some friends here and was reminded how much I loved the decor of this "joint." Great bar food menu with excellent burgers, tasty apps and all kinds of beer to choose from. Nice staff, clean restaurant and food is always good.

very disappointed in my order. Paid $7.49 for what ??? extremely small portion , my co-workers laughed at this portion & said; you paid how much. Actually the chips was counted & there was exactly 20 chips, very little meat & plenty of salas. VERY DISAPPOINTED & I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE.

Our "only 15 minute" wait turned into 60+ with the only waiting area being outside on a very cool Oct. night. The burgers are excellent and the sides are also great. Loved the 4 alarm chili had nice bite af heat in it. Go but not at a busier time. Dont blame the quality servers for a long wait on... More

Eat inside or out. Great place to get a quick bite and rest your feet after enjoying Grand Rapids' fall Art Prize - close to many of the venues. We like their burger selection. Usually stop there whenever in GR. Not fancy, but good, hearty food.

A bit off the beaten track during Grand Rapids' Art Prize, so it is perfect to take a break. Do not miss ordering the cottage fries. I love the Swiss Mushroom burger. Sad to say, the restrooms are not friendly for a wheelchair, but the staff and the place is so nice, all is forgiven. Feed the meter during the... More

First time at the Cottage Bar in years. We (my wife and I) sat outside because the weather was great. I get burgers a lot when we are out so I went for the chili dogs, they were not that good. many other places in GR to get better. my wife really liked what she got, the service was very... More

Stopped here before a concert at Van Andel Arena. Parking was a little tricky but I was able to find a close spot. Service was great, food was wonderful and prices were very reasonable. Will return if in the area.

After hearing the rave reviews of the burgers here, we had to try it! I got the Cottage Bar version of the "Grandwich" and it was deeeelicious! A burger, pulled pork, smoked gouda, and I believe onion straws! YUMMM! Hubby got the olive burger and let me just say, I don't even like olives and I liked this burger!! Neat... More
