If you're interested in trying several different dishes at once, this is the place for you. If you'd rather keep your meal to yourself this May not be the place for you. The portions are small as they are called shared plates for a reason. The service and atmosphere are great and the food was delish. The location is perfect... More

The menu has a wide variety of options, all skillfully prepared. Some of the most delicious vegetable (I don't know if strictly vegetarian) dishes I have had. They even offer an Absinthe table service!

It's been several years since I was in Michigan and ate at San Chez, but I often wish I was much closer so that I could dine there more often. The food is fabulous and I thoroughly enjoyed myself!

Different food combinations that blend together so nicely. We love the small plates so you can get a few bites from SO many different plates/combinations. Great for a date, out with friends and business. I wouldn't recommend it for people with young children but maybe high school aged and up because of the type of food. SOOOO yummy!!!!

This is a great place for larger groups or just dinner with friends. The tapas menu is spanish. Really unique offerings with some traditional spanish selections like paella. The food is sooo good. Definitely worth a visit. The Sangria is a popular choice, but they have other good drinks as well. Definitely recommend the blue cheese fritters. Delicious. But so... More

San Chez has been a staple in GR for a bit now. They've always set the bar as the best place for getting a non-midwest type of meal, in the midwest. Highlights revolve around the food, wine list, and cocktails. The atmosphere is also awesome and I always love the upstairs loft seating. The service can either be really awesome,... More

How can you mess up basted eggs? They came nearly hardboiled with a brown crust on the bottom. Overdone eggs and underdone "toast". The multigrain bread seemed like white with coloring. The potatoes had so much paprika they were inedible. Coffee was watery. We waited nearly an hour for a table. The homemade raspberry jam was cherry. The bloody mary... More

Enjoyed tasting a bit of many dishes with a couple friends, had a slow start with our waitress, but things got better as we went along. Was weird that you would get your appetizer after an entrée ... "oh, that's just how it comes out" ... ;-/

The concept that this restaurant is built on is very nice -- an urban spot where friends and family can share good spanish gourmet food together. However, it falls severely short in justifying the high cost of its dishes! The descriptions of the dishes and their presentation were great! We ordered Frito de Queso Azul, Empanada, Tostones Fritos, Patatas Bravas,... More

After reading reviews decided to visit . Very disappointed . My fried tapas were oily and not that tasty..the aioli served with it was nice. My mojito left a lot to be desired and was served in a water glass. And not that appealing to the eye. My server was friendly and helpful. I won't be going back again.
