Stopped by when visiting GR after many years away; San Chez was our favorite then and it does not disappoint now. Fun food, fun staff, good drinks and unique desserts.

I've eaten here several times, most recently for a late lunch (3p) with 3 friends. 4 is a perfect number for sharing tapas and San Chez never dissapoints. Our tapas specialist was great, and the dishes were yummy! Try some from all the menu areas - the warm spinich salad was a hit along with the meatballs.

Coming in mid-afternoon is usually a challenge in a restaurant. I like a well-timed greeting at the door. After being seated by a friendly server, we found a clean table, and friendly waitstaff. The loud music quieted after a few minutes, and our orders placed quickly and Pellegrino provided promptly. The plaintain was a bit dry for me, and offered... More

If you are with a group of 3-6 people, this is a great place to go to SHARE your meal. And SHARE is the important word! When you go for tapas, plan to try a little, tiny bit of each dish, but order 2-3 dishes each to fill up. This is a leisurely dinner-- not something to rush. Each order... More

We met a friend, so the three of us were able to order several wonderful tapas to share. Meat, veggie, seafood-it was all good. This place also has a terrific selection of Michigan craft beers.

Friendly staff. Went there for dinner. There were 4 of us, my husband and I and 2 teenage sons. We ordered and shared the mushroom/chorizo dish, calamari dish and tenderloin beef dish. Everything was excellent. We added paella midway and it was well made. They also gave bread and their special dipping oil in the beginning. Very good. We all... More

This restaurant was superb on having a varied menu and the food was very fresh. The sautéed shrimp, the gazpacho and the couscous with quinoa and sun dried tomatoes were outstanding. We sat outside on a very pleasant evening and received very good service!

My first time in Grand Rapids, we chose this lovely place. Situated in a beautiful historic building, the atmosphere was quite nice. The service was very friendly and efficient. The food was EXCELLENT! We enjoyed the goat cheese on garlic toast and I had the croquettas de papas. It was all VERY good!

San Chez is one of my favorite places to eat. The dates stuffed with chorizo are to die for. I get them every time I go. The tapas are all interesting and every one I have had has been wonderful. I have a lot of food allergies and San Chez is always able to accommodate me. This means their food... More
