Best Breakfast!

San Chez was recommended to us for breakfast. Our waitstaff was excellent. Coffee was delicious and french toast was fantastic.

We enjoyed the paella, and some tapas. Fancier presentation with food explanation on the side. Somewhat on the pricier side.

There were 14 people in our group, six were children. Children were not happy with food choices. San Chez accommodated us and answered all of our questions. We liked the fact that this restaurant supports local farmers by serving their products. You have to be specific if your children do not want certain ingredients in their meal, for instance--no herbed... More

My wife and I love the variety of taps restaurants and we've gotten our grandkids to love them too. The dining area is very ornate although a little cramped. Our server was great, paced the meal perfectly and was very pleasant. We liked the variety tray of charcuterie, cheese, olives etc., excellent gazpacho, tuna etc. Nice Spanish lening wine list... I had not been to San Chez in about 5 years. Still very expensive but the portion sizes were larger and the food still good. I started out with the Feijoada and it was a delicious black bean soup. I had the bowl and it was twice as large as I expected. My wife and I shared the Calamaritos Fritos... More

This is a good place if you are alone or with one other person, otherwise you will starve to death. Every time I have gone we all order 3 to 6 dishes each and by the time they get passed around you don't even get a bite of what you ordered.

Four of us went there for dinner. We all ordered different Tapas so we were able to do a lot of tasting. all of the food was delicious, and the presentation was great. The drinks were also wonderful. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants a change from your normal steak or seafood place. Great ambiance as well!

Maybe I ordered the "wrong" items but the food was just okay. I am familiar with tapas, so I understood the portion sizes would be very small and meant to be shared. If I am paying $9-12 for a small sample plate it should be very, very good. Everyone in my party was disappointed. I can see why this restaurant... More

Innovative and tasty food, with a wide variety and cool atmosphere. A bit pricey, especially if you like to eat a lot, but the restaurant is one of Grand Rapids' finest.

Hey! Want junkie American and bar food? Don't go to San Chez. This food is interesting, unique and has great flavor with idea pairings and combinations. The servers are all very knowledgeable and will answer any question you may have. They will also give you ideas as to what pairs well together. Your waiter will often suggest something and if...
