My husband and I were in Grand Rapids for a weekend get-away trip in August 2014. By chance it also was Restaurant Week where 3 course dinners are discounted. We made reservations and the farm-to-table experience seemed to be what we were looking for with fresh local ingredients. Menus were on a tablet and gave a good description and picture... More

The title of this review was taken straight off my receipt and perfectly sums up our experience. I was looking for a place to celebrate my BF's birthday during a Labor Day weekend visit. Besides being ranked #1 on TA in Grand Rapids, I've also seen this restaurant ranked #1 in Michigan. I made my reservation using Open Table and... More

The Grove has a small intimate setting which is wonderful for a romantic dinner. The menu changes with the local produce available and every time we have splurged and dined here it is difficult to select a entrees because they all sound so interesting and delicious.

We enjoyed a fantastic dinner for 18th anniversary at Grove. I made reservations through Open Table and noted that we were celebrating our anniversary. When we arrived, they brought a hand written anniversary card and brought us a glass of champagne while we looked at the menu. We did the three flight meal and each of us enjoyed each course.... I avoided Grove like the plague since its opening a few years ago. Informed friends said it was big money for small portions of ordinary cuisine. If Grove's Restaurant Week menu was any example, they were so, so, wrong! Sides and mains were innovative and portions decent sized though not gargantuan, as has come to be expected from sister restaurants... More

Lest we east-and-west-coasters think we somehow are dominating the popular, and rapidly more pervasive, trend of real farm-raised, hand-tended, much-loved-ingredient dishes being served across the country, put the brakes on and stop for a splendid meal at Grove. Take a moment before entering to meander charming brick-cobbbled Cherry St and it's art and restaurant scene. Where am I? Yes, Grand... More

If you are looking for a place where you can find something really good, but not the usual GR fare, this is the place to go. The food has lots of unique flavor, the presentations are great and the service is excellent! Try the quail appetizer and the smelt - both are great! The jumbelaya was fantastic! Lots of flavor.... We visited for the first time and thought the food and selection was great. We ordered the "Taste of Grove" which is 3 choices; one from the first, second and third course. The Jambalaya and Peanut Braised Beef were both good but the Braised Pork Belly Taco was the best I have had anywhere. Even my wife who doesn't like... More

Very creative menu, excellent blending of flavors. Always careful to enhance, not overpower, the taste of the food. You won't find better in very many restaurants no matter how well traveled you are.

We visited recently and decided to just do their versions of small plates. In reconstruction overdone such as the scallop ceviche had one scallop. The seared ahi had 5 small matchbook size slices of tuna.. Good flavor, very small servings..oh yes, I forgot that my bourbon on rocks was 14 bucks....
