Our daughter recently moved to Grand Rapids and brought us to Vivant for lunch on our recent visit. This is a brewery. Not a fancy dinning establishment or a sport bar. Go for the interesting beer selections, unique food options and fantastic service. We got the Vivant Charcuterie (a fancy name for sausages) and it was excellent. What impressed us... More

Seating was awkward. Beer was nothing to write home about. I ended up not ordering because nothing appealed to me on the menu. Service was very good. I don't plan on returning.

I was taken here by friends who live in Grand Rapids, and I was surprised to find such excellent food here. It's hard to avoid chain restaurant's in GR, but Vivant was the best food ive eaten in the city. I had Marrow Bone to start with which was delicious, and we shared a burger as a main and trffle... Not sure what I'm missing with this place but I just don't think it's that great. It's a dark, noisy tavern serving just mediocre food and OK beer. The French Carbonnade sandwich was not good ... a big white flour bun hollowed out to hold a small amount of beef and smothered in an unappetizing gravy and then buried in... More

Dropped in here while shopping. We had tried the beers here in earlier visits. Today we tried the Duck Confit Nachos to share. These were tasty and plenty fo all. Several of us had the Tempeh for lunch and it was tasty. The Wild Mushroom soup also was hearty. We had good service and of course great seasonal beer.

The burgers are amazing. Love the Belgian yeast... triples and escoffier is tasty but short of supply. This was a collaborative beer with New Belgian Brewing I just loved. Oh well... other beers on tap are great and the staff is awesome... so is the location ... if you like Belgian beer and/or craft beer ... this is a must... More

This is a great blend of excellent micro brews and high-end culinary like no other I have been too. Very few beers here that I don't like, but always love their stouts. The Duck Nachos are a must every trip. I always go with one of the specials, which this time was Rabbit Bacon Wrapped Rabbit - yes they made... More

We had a group of 10 people meet at Bar Vivant to try their beer. The servers were very helpful in going over the menu. The beer is Belgium style and had a lot of selection. We decided to eat dinner and we were surprised to find some unique offerings. The pretzels were awesome, different than any I have had... More

I was denied entry on an Israeli passport. I'm 25 and denied service by Chris Bates. I will be contacting my attorney about this horrible anti Semite discrimination. Keep away if you are Jewish!!!!!
