I was in Grand Rapids for a conference and one of the conference attendees sent me to Vivant for what he claimed was the best burger in GR. He wasn't kidding! It's an old church that now looks like a Belgian abbey. So wouldn't you know it... they serve belgian ales. The key to the burger is the fact that... More

This is the 3rd time we have stopped here while on vacation in Michigan. I am Belgian, so it is always fun to stop for good Belgian beer and food. The building was a church prior to the conversion to a restaurant. You seat at long table when inside. Outside there are tables. Family members enjoy the burgers. Me, I... More

Stopped in late on a Wednesday for a drink. First time here. Interesting look on the inside. Service was fairly slow to start. I'd recommend an updated beer list at the tables also. Good beer. Cool mugs to purchase, I bought one.

We came in on a tuesday and while it was busy, we were seated right away outside. Inside it is very pretty, but dark. Beautiful stained glass window. I ordered the genuinely brewed root beer as I was not in the mood for beer, but my friend ordered a flight and tasted several delicious beers,. I ordered a burger which... More

Brewery Vivant's church-like interior is perfect for its food, beers, and ambiance. We went mid afternoon for a drink and some appetizers. The beer is superb - I especially enjoyed the tart and funky Farmhand beer, and the Undertaker, a bit too dark for my taste, was still enjoyable with its dark roasted coffee and slight dark cherry tones. We... More

I loved this place. The food was fantastic (I had the tuna), the location convenient (the neighborhood is very walkable), and the building itself was so very cool ( a converted church). The flights of locally made beer were fun to taste and explore too!

We went there for the first time and I have to say that I like the atmosphere, decor and my husband loved the beer. Will definitely go back.

I really enjoyed our dining experience at Brewery Vivant. I should say in advance that I was there solely because of my curiosity regarding the duck nachos--the rave reviews regarding which my son found on line. He convinced us to stop at BV as we passed through Grand Rapids and report back to him. I'm glad we did. As mentioned... More

We had friends in town and took a self guided brewery tour. When we walked in the door I loved the building and everyone was really nice. I love old buildings and stained glass windows. We sat down and tried the two ciders while our friends tried the beers. Of the four breweries that day this was the only one... More
