Lives up to the hype, but not cheap

We'd heard nothing but high praise for the food and atmosphere at this place, and having been fans of the beer for years but never having been to the brewery itself, we took advantage of an opportunity to visit. I was very disappointed with vivant. Although the building is beautiful the service was not. They were out of half their beers and they were very against any substitutions on their foods or desserts. I wanted the pineapple upside down cake without the coconut ice cream that came with it (I dont like coconut anything) and was told I cant... More

The beer drinkers in our group loved the flights. The wait staff was friendly and attentive and didn't mind explaining things to newbies. The duck nachos were a hit with everyone - quite different. The non drinkers enjoyed coffee and an amazing dessert called the chocolate board. All in all a great relaxing time! The building is great. next time... More

We stopped for the tour. The tour was okay. There were samples and you were able to keep the cute little taster glass. The tour did not include information about the building, a very cool old church. My questions were answered, but I had to ask after the tour. The food was very, very good. We all ordered different choices... More

Ate here for my birthday lunch. We ate so well - spicy gespacho soup - lb of muscles and the chocolate board and vanilla ice cream. What else could you ask for!?! Good service - stunning building - loved the beer. We were very happy!

This is one of the best brewery/restaurants that I have been to I all of my travels. I have no reservations at all about rating this a solid 5. First off the building is an old funeral home chapel and is a fantastic setting for a brewery that specializes in Belgian and French style beers. It almost feels like you... More

Great beers and great food, appitizer pairings. Also very nice atmosphere, as it was an old church building. It is a little small, and can fill up rapidly. So, go early if you can. They also have a small parking lot in back. I will go here agsin, when in town....

You enter through the old funeral parlour and can sit inside or outside on several patios. We chose outside on a recent warm evening. They accommodated our late nite food request even thought the kitchen was soon closing. We did not try a brew as it was late but did split several selections including a chocolate dessert. Everyone enjoyed their... More

Hubby and I went for date night while on vacation. We really enjoyed the atmostpher. Our waiter was very nice and helpful. We tried several different beers and enjoyed them. $4.50-$5.50 per beer for most of them. Hubby really enjoyed his Spicy Mexican Tomato Soup and his Cajun Shrimp Pasta (special of day). I loved the Truffle Fries and would... More
