Nice but a little ostentatious

This restaurant is across the street from the elegant Amway Grand Plaza Hotel, and across the street from Ruth's Chris Steak House. The service and the food are quite elaborate, but the serving of the food in somewhat theatrical fashion seems out of touch with the times.

This is a very good steakhouse. Food is good, and service is first rate. Has a good wine selection. Best of all is that you can retire to the cellar after dinner for drinks, dessert and a cigar.

My waitress seemed agitated serving the meal- I didn't drink but one glass of wine and only spent around $30 for dinner as I was on business.

I'm not a meat eater in general, but my husband wanted to go to a steak house. We both enjoyed our food and yes, I finally understood what a great steak is all about. The meat was superb. I had fish and it was excellent. If we are ever in town we will be back.

An after hours cocktail or a glass of bourbon is great at this place! Our bartender was very knowledgable and engaged in conversation regarding the choices they had available. We enjoyed this place and hope to go back for dinner because the people next to us really seemed to enjoy their dishes.

Was in town celebrating one of our birthdays! Thought we would try somewhere we never ate before. This was just down the street from the JW. Lovely restauant, a little pricey but food is well worth it. We were pleasantly surprised when our waitress informed us since it was my hubby's birthday they were giving us half price on out... This is was my first visit to the Chop House and and my fiance's first visit in about 10 years. The ambience is elegant and romantic, with dimly lit dining room and rich, dark woods. The food was exceptional.. Perfectly prepared. The wine was fantastic, and my dirty martini, not on the menu but happily prepared, was exceptionally good. This was,... More

Went here after Art.Downtown event. Reserved a table the night before which was very convenient. Dress is said to be business casual but there were many couples, including us, in jeans. When we arrived we requested privacy and they put the two of us in a corner booth. The menus are tablets and if you select a menu item, a... More

First visit to The Chop House. EXCELLENT!! The cocktail & wine options are vast with various price points for all. The tablet menus are a nice touch allowing you to make selections with pics of how food is prepared. The wait staff is super friendly but do not hover. We will be back.

I had steak dinner here with a colleague while in town on business. The atmosphere was great, and the steak was cooked to perfection. The staff was friendly. I would definitely eat here again.
