Best breakfast around when they get local sausage. They have yummy waffles and blueberry pancakes. This place is not always open we tried to go at 8 am on a Sunday and I thought this was strange. It's very small also not many tables. I love the history of this place and the dinner is so cool and retro.

we were at Crisp Point and the volunteers there told us about this place so we stopped and found a true gem. The history about the diner and the Staff kept us entertained and then the food blew us away, Best pastrami sandwich I've had outside NY. Don't miss this place!!!!!!!

If you are in Grand Marais, this is a must see. The food is good, but the story of the place is great! The owner and employees are VERY friendly!

We were persuaded by a couple locals to try this diner again and we found it much better than our previous visit so I wanted to update my review. The food and service is pretty good and the place is much cleaner. The hours are kind of irregular due to the owners health, but certainly is a decent restaurant. It's... More

If you have an appreciation of the history of diners in America, you should certainly check this place out. From an architectural standpoint, this place should be on the National Historic Register of Historic Places. The owners have certainly put their heart and soul into restoring the place and operating it. Yes, the food is not wonderful. But you know,... More

Very kind staff. The owner is overwhelmed with a claim to fame as a published author. A very long wait, but we were on vacation and were not bothered. The complaint was they ran out of everything from whitefish to waffle cones with the influx of customers which limited the food choices.

When we are called from shore of Lake Michigan to that of Lake Superior, we head to grand Marais and the diner. It has the cimbined atmosphere of soda shoppe, deli, and buffalo burgers! True, service is slower...just don't expect Big City speed at top of Upper Peninsula, friendly waits, no one seems to mind. Grown kids visiting from West... More

Wonderful food in a completely restored diner (read the back of the menu!). These folks work their batuties off to bring you great food. Club sandwiches piled high with the real stuff (no wax meat), great soup and chili, wonderful old-fashioned soda fountain service. It's clear that most people who wrote reviews here didn't read the back of the menu.... More
