Very friendly, good food. We got whitefish and chips, which was very good! We wanted to return but they were closed when we went back the next day

We were in Grand Marais for a week, and went to the West Bay Diner at least 4 times - whether for a meal or ice cream. The staff was very friendly and accommodating and the menu is good. The food is excellent, with enough choice to make even picky eaters happy. The only "downside" is that the kitchen is... More

The service was absolutely phenomenal! We could have asked for a better mom and pop shop! Interesting history and great food!

This was a combination diner, book store, souvenir shop and ice cream parlor. Small and packed with fun things to look at. Books on every surface. The food was great, but as other reviewers have stated, takes a while to prepare. Also, the food will be brought out as soon as it is ready, even if your companion's food is... More

The food and service was excellent! Very friendly staff. They had a small menu but had a good selection and the food was excellent! Would definitely return to this establishment!

Had to circle the block to find the entrance with no steps but the food was the best! Combination restaurant, gift shop and book store made it an interesting stop!

Since we have young children and it was late we ordered pizza takeout. As such I can't review or comment on the establishment or service, but the service for takeout pizza was good. The pizza we had was excellent.

I love quirky places to eat. This totally fits the bill. I liked it enough to eat there on two occasions. The burgers are good, as was the daily quiche special. But the peach pie... the peach pie is worth a second trip. The staff members were really friendly, and pleasant to talk with, but it took a long time... More

Last ate here 2 yrs ago and the food is still very good. The entrance is still hard to find. Go in the front and stay left on the boardwalk, which will bring you to the entry door on the eastside of the diner. I like the free peanuts in the shell that you are given now to help you... More
