Usually eat here at sine point when staying in Grand Marais.... Food is good.. Portions generous... My server was very nice and checked on me several times. I there on Thurs and it was taco night... Ended up taking half of it back to the hotel for lunch the next day

Enjoyed dinner at the Sportsmans. I'd describe as a typical small town bar with old logging and hunting/fishing stuff hanging on walls. Our whitefish dinners were generous and tasty with fries, veggies and a salad.

Good place to stay and have burger, get warm in winter by the fire. I have visited this place several times in winter as well in summer. Average food at average price.

Service was not stellar and the food average. We got charged twice for the meal because they made a mistake with the card so now we have to wait for a refund.

Our party of six was served fairly promptly, but that's about the best I could say for our experience. We all had different items, ranging from the whitefish platter to hamburger to enchiladas, but they were all just ok at best. The fries were soggy. Everyone just picked at their food. Our waitress and the bar staff were both unpleasant.... More

After trying the Dunes Saloon the previous year and having absolutely the poorest service, we thought we'd try the Sportsmans Restaurant. Again the service was not very good. We had a party of seven and asked for 3 separate checks. The meals came out by check but there was 5 minute delay between having the meals delivered. They also screwed... More

First off, I would advise folks to avoid grand marais until after Labor Day. Apparently m 58 has recently been paved from muni sing to gm and the poor little town is over run with harleys and off road vehicles. It's really noisy all the time. As for the sportsman, we were there on Sunday morning (nothing else was open)... More

My husband & I decided to have dinner here as we thought since the locals eat here, it should be pretty good. Well, it was just okay. We both had the whitefish platter (fish with fries). The fish wasn't bad but it wasn't great either. Also the fries, they tasted fine but mine seemed to be almost all tiny little... More

We ate hear while camping in Grand Marais. We wanted to eat at the Lake Superior Brewing Company, but that place was too busy so we went to the Sportsmans to eat. The interior of the restaurant is older, but it has some charm to it. The food and drinks were priced typical of pub food. Overall, the food was... More

We stopped in for lunch during the week only to find just three other couples. Interesting atmosphere and rather rustic. Several large screen TV's over the bar and plenty of seating near the front walk to enjoy the slow but casual scenery outside on the main drag. Service was OK, nothing to holler about and the food was good. Again,... More
