I have been enjoying dinners at the WAG (as some locals affectionately call this place) for at least 10 years and have usually been pleased with food, menu selections and service. Recently I sense a change in attitude and food prep. Overcooked filet mignon, fish dish served lukewarm, no bread on winter menu and none available on request -- and... More

We stopped by in mid-afternoon on a weekday after a visit to the Sleeping Bear Dunes. We sat outside and the place was not crowded at all. The service was prompt and pleasant. We had Fried Perch and Parmesan Crusted Whitefish both of which were delicious and had generous portions. The Ann Arbor Strawberry Blond was excellent and so was... More

We went to this little local place to celebrate a birthday dinner with a party of nine. While the food was well prepared, it took an especially long time to serve even our appetizers. There was no bread or vegetable/dip while we waited nor very little attention from our server. Two of our party ordered the "house cabernet" which they... More

Ate at this restaurant while spending two days at Sleeping Bear Dunes. We felt for our budget that the price was a bit high. We ordered the Parmesan Whitefish. It was delicious but not a very large portion, green beans were tough so left most of those on our plate, and the rice was so-so. There seemed to be only... More

Classic Ceaser salad? $8.95 for greens from a bag. There was a generous amount of parmesan and it was dressed correctly, but . . . My husband's perch was quite nice and the fries appeared to be made on site. Perch cooked well and a fairly generous portion. This appears to be a restaurant owned by a conglomerate that has... I have an annoying diet. I can't eat shellfish (deathly allergic), I can't eat cheese (makes me ill) and I don't really eat meat. It was a struggle for me to order ANYTHING OFF THIS MENU. I was so nice to the waitress and gave her my annoying list of allergens- no cheese, nuts, shellfish. I asked for like a... More

Whether you eat inside or out, you will be well served with delicious meals here. The Bar and Grill is open for breakfast onwards. American portions are generally over large for British tastes but you might try ordering several starters and sharing them all for a wonderful variety of flavours.

Service was quite slow but boy oh boy was the food good! Fried Perch was top notch and plentiful. Filet mignon was larger than expected and nicely prepared. Best of all were the baby back ribs. Our group was unanimous in saying they were the best we'd ever had. They have large portions so we were too full for dessert.... More

And to top things off...we were charged 25 cents to try one of their beers before ordering a pint of it.
