Solid breakfast place

This place has a large variey breakfast items. The Alpine skillet with hollandaise sauce over homemade corn beef hashwas excellent. Make excellent egg white omelettes. Good service easy parking make it a natural path of I 75.

My friend and I came for lunch on a weekday in August with our kids. Neither of us had been there before. There was a group of ladies standing in front of the hostess desk in front of us. There was no host/hostess at the desk at the time, so we assumed the ladies were waiting to be seated. So,... More

You cannot go wrong eating here. I have been coming here since I was a kid. The Dumas family still has oversight and the food is as good as ever. ORDER THE RASPBERRY PIE.

Stopped on way home from Mackinac Island and had a wonderful Sunday dinner. Great roasted chicken with tasty stuffing, potatoes and asparagus; my husband had a German plate with sauerkraut, Knockwurst and German potato salad. Great service too!

This place is very quaint and follows the Gaylord Alpine theme. I gather it's a bit of an institution in Gaylord. We were there for breakfast. It is very popular, so be prepared to wait. The blueberry pancakes were good, however my eggs were not cooked as I ordered them and appeared in a pool of water on my plate.... More

I have been here a number of times and may have even reviewed it previously. But I like it so much it deserves another review. This time I came for a late morning breakfast. Just the basics and hard to miss. But what I love the most is the charm and ambiance of a place that has been in business... More

Our group of 16 ate here several times. Breakfast was delicious! Dinner was very good and service was excellent. The raspberry pie ala mode was to die for! Really good place to try!

Cute little Bavarian place. The staff was exceptionally friendly. The food was excellent and reasonably priced. Wide variety on the menu. I had the Greek Chicken sandwich, which was very good, except when I go next time, I will ask for the spinach uncooked. They must cook it with the chicken. But, as long as you like cooked spinach, you'll... More

This was our first visit to the Sugar Bowl. It is two restaurants in one in the sense that they have a family dining room and a second more formal dining room. We were traveling and consequently wanted the advantage of the faster service in the family dining room. The server was very pleasant and efficient. She took our orders... More

Great food (whitefish sandwich and chicken salad sandwich), good portions. Full service bar, a lot of local historical pictures all throughout the hallway. Friendly and attentive waitress!
