I may have dined here at this older, well known local restaurant years ago, but I do not recollect doing so. My DD and I had a very nice lunch with a relative and we thought the food, service, prices were great. The decor is dated, but I wouldn't want them to change it either, and everything thing is in... My husband and I both enjoyed our visit here. Our server was excellent and very kind. The food was brought out hot and delicious! Although, the prices were a little high...

If you are looking for a leisurely dinner experience this place may be for you. Otherwise, you might want to look elsewhere. Don't get me wrong, the food was good and I would return. The prime rib and the whitefish were both excellent. The server was extremely friendly but SLOW. The place was only half full but we waited ten... More

What a wonderful experience. We were looking for a quick, tasty lunch and weren't disappointed. Our only disappointment is that we should have ordered the larger serving of lemon rice soup. It was delicious. The corned beef was tender, the turkey mouth watering. Thank-you for a lunch to remember.

The food and service is excellent. The prime rib was exceptional and the waitress was spot on. The decor of the restaurant is beautiful. This is my third visit, and would recommend this establishment to everyone.

I have been coming here since I was a child 50-something years ago. The food & atmosphere is very good. I had the macaroni & cheese special, and it was just like Mom used to make. The servers were very attentive.

This restaurant, circa 1917, is a lovely place to enjoy a meal in Gaylord. The menu is a mix of traditional German and Greek dishes. Strange bedfellows--but a combination that offers varied tasty selections. I strongly recommend a visit if you are traveling in Northern Michigan.

We stopped by at the end of a long day of driving from Detroit. The Sugar Bowl is a true old fashioned family restaurant. The walls of lobby are covered with old photos and stories following the 95 year history. It was our first day in Michigan, so we had to try the whitefish. It was sautéed perfectly a la... More

I had the pancakes and sausage, loved the pancakes but the sausage lacked in flavor. My daughter had the french toast and bacon, it was really good as well. The staff is friendly and the decor is older but taken care of.
