On a trip across the state for a medical appointment at the UofM Med Center, we decided to stop in Frankenmuth overnight for a much-needed break. Everyone (friends, co-workers, fellow-travelers, facebook, trip advisors, etc) said we simply HAD to have the "Frankenmuth Experience" by eating the famous chicken dinner. With so many wonderful recommendations we honestly expected to like the... More

In town for 3 nights and did Zehnders on a Thus night and came here on a Sat night. Was more crowded but service was better. We had a young guy serving us and he was quick as ever. Food arrived hot and I found the chicken tastier than Zehnders. The beer was good too. We asked for extras of... More

Although the food was not the best, we would rate it somewhere between good and very good, depending on the dish. That was good enough for us because we largely went for the atmosphere and nice service.

As if Classic Frankenmuth Chicken isn't enough, add in Classic German Food and you have a totally awesome lunch or dinner! The service is great and the food is fantastic. Tip - First timers, get the Combination Patter off the lunch menu. You will get to sample everything, be full but not stuffed and still have money left in the... More

Enjoyed the Brat and the Root Beer. Although I enjoyed the shorter brat with sauerkraut better last year. The same goes for my daughter Ruth. I liked the soft pretzel with mustard from the shops below also. I spent my time in the U.S. Army stationed in Kitzingen am Maine west Germany (1958-1959). Thanks. The service was fine - our waitress was really nice and helpful, and the atmosphere is definitely German, but the food was just okay. We got a sampling of three different German dishes -- a chicken, pork and beef. None were overly flavorful that I would say "I want to go back." The food is served family style with lots... More

We're sorry you were disappointed in the meal. Perhaps on a future visit we can customize the sides to fit your needs. The most popular are the buttered noodles and potato cheese puffs! But, we always have different options available on request and the Chef is happy to customize a meal to your taste. Thank you again for the review.... More

It was unique and a great experience. I have Celiac and they had a gluten free menu that was safe for me. I will say that it is expensive.

Good service (Nicole) and tons of food on the table. There's even an all you can eat chicken option. Quite loud - big dining rooms. could be a line up at dinner time.

The chicken dinner at Bavarian Inn is so delicious! The coleslaw, chicken pasta salad, and cranberry salads are a great way to start the meal. The chicken, mashed potatoes, dressing, and gravy are fabulous, but the buttered noodles are the best!

A beautiful setting and the luncheon dining room is beautifully decorated with Grimm's Brothers murals. The service is friendly but not overly attentive. The food while tasty is a little short on authenticity. The Kassler (smoked pork loin) was served on a nice pretzel roll but accompanied with Colby cheese, not Swiss Swiss or butter kase' and honey mustard. The... More
