Overall, we were impressed with the food and service we received during a busy July 4th holiday weekend. The steak burrito was very solid, steak seasoned and grilled nicely with peppers and onions...I added shredded lettuce and a bowl of the hot salsa to spice things up. The Top Shelf margarita was killer, at $12 per drink...it was a steal... More

Hacienda has the potential to be a great, thriving Mexican restaurant...but not sure what has happened here. The food has continued to go downhill and I'd go here only as a last place in town. That is sad, as it used to be busy, good food, and a lively bar. Goes to prove that the backbone of a restaurant is... More

We've been coming to the Hacienda for more than a dozen years and it is always the same. The menu isn't very full and some of the combinations are actually more expensive than ordering a la carte. One of the biggest positives is that you can usually get seated immediately when Pearl's has a 90 minute wait. That should probably... More

This is the only Mexican restaurant in town, and it's expensive for what it is. The advertised "karaoke night" is really the owner's son playing keyboard for most of the evening. But, it's a local place, reasonable food, but just a bit over-priced, and the atmosphere is still stuck in the 1970's.

The food was very average. It did not taste "homemade" and it is not "authentic" Mexican food. Its Tex-Mex if you are lucky. Service was average. We sat next to a table of druken high school/college students who were rude and obnoxious. The wait-staff showed a lot of class in not getting into it with them. If it was my... More

This is a very bad faux Mexican restaurant. Food comes to the table predictably full of canned refried beans, laden with melted cheese, and slathered with sour cream "product." I took it off my list long ago, after several disappointments. Yet they must still be catching some of the traffic coming south from Petoskey. If you are headed south and... More

As a previous post put it "come here to drink, not to eat" food is bland and uninspired. This place has the location and potential to be great. I

Came with a large family gathering. The service was excellent, the food was abysmal. I ordered a $13.00 "special" marinade chicken burrito. It was just ordinary at best. No marinade that I could taste. This was dinner special and comes with NO extra, I.E. NO rice or beans. Just a terrible place.

The "Wet" Burrito, supposedly the thing to have, came with rotten, way overcooked hamburger, wilted lettuce and ann extra charge for the sour cream in a plastic cup on the side. Smothered with red sauce and a little sprinkle of Kraft cheese. Terrible. Smokey, boring Northern Michigan bar/restaurant with little to no atmosphere. I remember the food being better. Maybe...
