Excellent dining experience!

This was just a great overall experience! Our waiter could not have been more courteous and helpful. The food was delicious and attractively presented. I had the pork loin entree and my spouse had tomato basil fettucine. Both were excellent. The bleu cheese salad dressing is very good here, nice... read more

Location and cleanliness are very good. Quality of food and prices are average. Nothing to right home about or to refer others to.

Good selection of excellently prepared food for breakfast, lunch and dinner (including availability of many quality wines) -- have dined here numerous time for all three meals (more breakfasts and dinners). Dining room a bit cramped, but two levels and good decor help with individuality/intimacy -- there are a couple private dining rooms for small groups (~8 to 12). The... More

Went to brunch around 11:00am wasn't very crowded. The hostesses sat us right away. The service is absolutely top notch. The buffet style brunch is good with reasonably tasty choices. The bacon was nice and crisp. The waffles were small and hard. They were not good at all. There was mini PBJ sandwiches that were also hard, not edible. The... More

We ordered from the to go menu. It was limited but the food was reasonably priced and very tasty. However, if we weren't so beat when we checked into the hotel, we would have preferred exploring all of the variety along Grand River Ave.

The state room has been our place for all MSU football games. Parents have gathered there for years and the service is overwhelming. 3 years ago we celebrated Thanksgiving in a private room with a special menu that the state room provided for us. The food has never disappointed us. Also when you stay as a parent of a MSU... More

We were a party of 7 and went for dinner to celebrate my daughter's 21st birthday. Reservations were easy to make over the phone and they were gracious enough to allow me to bring in my own birthday cake. Holly was our server and she was wonderful. They took my cake back to the kitchen and then brought it out... More

This restaurant, located in the Kellogg Center, is a wonderful selection when you want a nice lunch or dinner for a special occasion or any day of the week. The wait staff are students, usually involved with the Hospitality curriculum at the University, and they all work hard and are eager to please. I've had numerable good experiences here, and... The State Room always offers wonderful meals. The menus are creative and the wine list is extensive. We have been going to the State Room for years and have always been impressed with the food, the wines and the service.
