we were in East Lansing for the first football game of the year. I found the Peanut Barrel on trip advisor and after the game made our way to get something to eat. They were busy but we got a table quickly. The server came over and got our drink order when she returned with our drinks she took our... More

This place has some amazing burgers and is open late. Also some fun drink specials. They have a wide variety of sandwiches which you can have as a burger or chicken sandwich. The owners also are the servers so outstanding service as well.

I was pretty disappointed in this restaurant, the reviews didn't seem to line up with my experience. The food was good, but the food does not a good restaurant alone make. We had a party of 3 on a Saturday afternoon, choice of outdoor or indoor dining. We chose the indoor-no wait. First mistake. It was dark dreary, and smelled... More

Maybe they had a bad day since we found the place on line and the reviews were pretty good (not Tripadvisor). First - I will eat most anything put in front of me, so I'm not a harsh food critic; however, this was C- food (I actually think that C- is the high school GPA for incoming freshman at MSU,... More

I spent a lot of time at the local bar while attending MSU! I managed to make a lot of friends there! The food is always fresh and the drinks cold! Its wonderful to sit on the patio on a nice summer day. I make it a goal to visit each time I'm in EL.

I've lived in East Lansing for five years and there is nothing like a long island and a burger from here! Yum! I love the patio on a sunny day to relax and people watch. I have had slow service a couple of times but in general it is average pace. Burgers are better than a chain like chiles and... More

I can't believe I waited four years to try this place. I had chili cheese fries, generous portion and very yummy chili sauce, very fulfilling. The second time I was here with my Dad. He got turkey bacon sandwich and I got the famous olive burger. Both were very tasty (note: I am not a sandwich lover...). The burger was... More

Peanut Barrel is our go-to place when everything else just doesn't excite us. The crew at PB has been there for as long as I can remember, and I have been in East Lansing for a long time. Joe Bell (some of us call him Papa Joe) has found the perfect combination of cool college atmosphere and consistently good food... More

PB is a local legend. The burgers are terrific & the servers are attentive. If it is a sunny day and you are lucky, you can dine on the patio and look out over your glass at busy Grand River Ave. But I prefer the dim lights of the interior, where one steps into a one of a kind atmosphere.... More

I've been a patron of the Peanut Barrel for over 15 years. Anytime friends come back into town the Barrel is always on the list. The menu is pretty basic and does not change much. If you want to dine with the locals the Barrel is the place to be. Make sure you show up early in the summer time... More
