Every town has a place like this

Every Town has a landmark watering-hole Burger / Beer joint that has been around forever and can't be beat by any of the newcomers. In my hometown of Flint, Mi. the place is called "The Torch". The "Rodeo Burger" at PB is very good. It comes with made in Michigan "Better Made" chips. I tried... read more

The two of us went here for a quick dinner. The food selection is typical bar menu. But the food is very good. We split a Rueben sandwich and each had chicken noodle soup. Both the sandwich and the soup were excellent. The place is very small -- so if you are going on a Friday/Saturday night or when school... More

Peanuts. Start with the peanuts in the shell. Burgers. Just the way you like them. Fresh air. Nothing better than the patio on a great Michigan afternoon.

Best bar food, best wait staff, best cooks, best patio, best owners, best regulars. Peanut Barrel burgers have earned their reputation, but my personal favorite is the veggie melt with 'shrooms (warning: HUGE sandwiches, good for sharing or leftovers). This is a truly exceptional college town bar where everyone--families, college students, Spartan sports fans--will feel welcome. Don't miss the patio... More

Hole in the wall atmosphere . Best burger ever. I've eaten here many times and I've only ever ordered the burger. It's so good I can't try anything else. Patio fills up soooo fast. Hard to get a spot. Worth the wait ;)

The Peanut Barrel is my restaurant of choice as an East Lansing resident of 30 years. The food is very good (I eat the veggie sandwich, the olive burger or a tuna salad) ..and it's dirt cheap! The patio is the go to place the minute the weather hits 60°. Sitting on the patio at least once a week under... More

Okay its' bar food, but its done right and happy. If your are lucky enough to get a table at dinner time on a Friday get ready to be immersed in a totally positive campus friendly environment. Most the crowd seemed to be "done for the week" Professors and the like ...we guessed the student crowd would be filling the... More

I've been going to and enjoying this casual bar restaurant for over 30 years. You find a great mix of students, professionals and friends. They have the best chickenshroom sandwiches, burgers, etc. You can't beat their long islands. Great place to people watch while sitting outdoors on a warm summer evening. Great prices...come casual.

One of the best places in East Lansing to eat, drink, and to socialize. It has a local feeling because it's a local place! Make sure to get a long island, limit two per customer.
