It has changed through the years, but always has good, friendly wait staff, bartenders and managers. Excellent draft beer selection and food. Highly recommended for locals and visitors alike.

We were in EL for the first time to watch our football team play MSU. I always like to go someplace local for food either before or after games and Beggar's Banquet was our choice. It's a very typical looking pub - lots of beers on tap and TVs. The place is bigger than it looks, with three seating areas... More

To be fair it was Sunday morning after a great night football game (Go Green!) and this is a college town so I'm guessing the staff (which includes a lot of college students) might have been just a tad hung over...and the place was really busy. Our servers (we had 3 for a table of 6) were personable but stopped... More

We dined here for brunch at about 10:30am on a Sunday. The place was moderately busy and starting to fill up. I had the Huevos Rancheros. It consisted of two overcooked poached eggs floating in what was supposed to be refried beans but was more like bean soup, a teaspoon of salsa, and a teaspoon of sour cream. Instead of... More

Great eclectic atmosphere close to campus. Great wine and more sophisticated choices. Service is good. I always know I will enjoy my visit.

The sirloin steak was quite good and was cooked perfectly. Salmom was delicious, but I'm glad that I ordered the dill sauce on the side. It was good but a little bit was enough. Seasonal veggies were way too salty. Rice and potatoes were much better. Very good portions of everything, and it was nice to be able to choose... More

We had mussels (which were awesome) baked Brie and crackers (Brie was great; crackers average) for appetizers followed by a London grill perfectly marinated so it didn't seem like a cheap cut of meat (which it is). My spouse had baked salmon with dill sauce..mmmmmm. I would definitely order any of these dishes again. The service was top notch. I... More

This is the best place in East Lansing if you want a good meal. Wine selection is good; beer selection is excellent. Enjoyed shrimp and risotto.

This used to be a high quality restaurant, but now it's just....not. Service is slow and food just isn't that great for the high prices. Feels stuffy inside and one of the bathrooms is just scary, no stall, just a curtain!!

A year ago (or was it two?) I ate here and the sandwiches were around seven dollars each. This time I ordered the Begguletta sandwich and it was eleven dollars. The sandwich was good... but a 30% increase in price, just over a year or two? Ouch! The service at 2:00pm was very slow even though we were the only... More
