After a 75 minute wait, we were finally seated & ordered ribs & chicken, with cornbread & Mac & cheese as sides. Very average.
I'm usually very disappointed with the food offerings at large sports stadiums. Often the food choices don't go beyond overcooked and bland hot dogs, sausages and pizzas. While at Ford Field I was thrilled to come across an outpost of Slows and ordered the Yardbird - shredded chicken in a mustard sauce served on a bun. There are many sides... More
I can't understand what all the hype is about. Very dirty and there bq sauce is not all that. Union wood shop eats it alive
Slows has been a staple in Detroit for many diehard fans, but I must say you can do better. This place is not in a great location now that Tiger's stadium is gone and the area has been going downhill fast. I wouldn't want to venture around here after dark, but during the day it is okay. The location is... More
This is a great place for wonderful BBQ meats and for appetizers and side dishes that are unusual to find north of the Mason-Dixon line. This was my first visit to the full restaurant as I had only been to Slows To Go previously. The restaurant sits in an older area of Corktown that has quite a way to go... More
If you are a BBQ fan you will want to try Slows. Best BBQ between Chicago and Va Beach. Great atmosphere and well done food. Molly at the bar is a staple and friendly. Try the mixed plate with pulled pork brisket and chicken. Cool pace with great food.
I have eaten here a few times, and no doubt it's delicious. However with all the hype I expected it to be amazing. Definitely worth trying though. Put your name on the waitlist, grab a buzzer, and go next door to Sugar House. The buzzer's work over there. I like the bar area best, unless it's nice out then hit... More
First of all, let's get the elephant out of the room. This isn't the nicest or safest-feeling part of the world, but neither is it the worst. Yes there are abandoned buildings, yes there are some shady characters about, but which big city in the world doesn't have a bit of that? As long as you're not here in the... More
I love BBQ and this did not disappoint. We had a 2 1/2 hour wait. We went to Motown museum in the mean time and came back and say down. Huge portions. The pulled pork was perfectly moist and properly done. The Mac and cheese was like no other and very enjoyable. The sauces at the table were fantastic and... More
