Fun Cuban Restaurant in Downtown Detroit

Vicente's was a great restaurant for dinner on my final night in Detroit. The place is located right in the heart of downtown Detroit - an area which has really come a long way with its revitalization. The restaurant is a stone's throw away from the Cadillac Center People Mover station - which is... read more

Years ago, I had eaten at Vicente's and during a business trip I mentioned to a co-worker if it was still open. She exclaimed yes and can we go for lunch and I said "sure !". Well needless to say I'm hooked on the joint as I went two nights in a row. I could have gone somewhere else, but... More

We get to downtown Detroit a few times a year: for concerts, or various sporting events. After discovering Vincente's, this is generally our go to place when we find ourselves any where near Comerica Park or Ford Field. The sangria is really fresh and the food is always terrific. One of these days we're going to get down there on... More

It's one of those quiet little places tucked in off of the now bustling street. We stopped in after a gallery opening nearby and was quietly surprised by the food. The service was prompt, professional and cordial. The sangria was amazing and had a nice kick to it. The food had that Cuban snap that I liked over traditional Mexican... More

I was here at 5:30 on a Saturday, so maybe I would've had more fun if I would've came later when the music and dancing began. I started with a sangria and another drink which was said to be the national drink of Brazil. Both of these drinks were great. Our meals came and both of us agreed that it... More

If you've ever had real Cuban food from South Florida or somewhere in the Caribbean, you will be disappointed. I lost all respect and mentally checked out when I asked if they had vaca frita and the server didn't even know what that was. Come on man, it's fried cow! The place was 90% empty at dinner time on a... More

I've been eating at Vicente's for years; it's one of my favorite spots in Detroit to grab lunch. There are a lot of enticing options on the menu, but my favorites, which I find myself going back to time and time again, are the Ensalada de Pera, Papas Rellenas (heaven for all those potato lovers out there!) and Pollo al... Only Okay. Food was average; nothing special. Sorry to say, disappointed a bit. I may try it again to give it another chance.

The food is excellent with authentic Spanish Caribbean flavors. If you are looking for something our of the ordinary this is a wonderful choice in the heart of Detroit. If the weather permits, the outdoor patio is charming, with an interesting view of the Detroit skyline.
