I love Astoria. I have a gluten free diet now so my options are much slimmer than they used to be there. The last time I went there was a store full of people with no way to account for who was next in line. It was as organized as the line at the bar on Saturday night. My cherry... More

Perhaps coming from a home where gourmet food and fresh desserts were served on a regular basis has spoiled me. Upon visiting Astoria, I had high expectations. I was disappointed to find that their "fresh" desserts were actually frozen, for who knows how long. Not only was my chocolate eclair served frozen, but when I asked if it could at... More

I think they are the only freestanding place left that offer pastries in Greektown, they are a bit expensive but still a nice treat away from the casino.

Okay, lets put aside the fact that their pastries, cookies, etc are all simply fantastic. What makes it so dangerous are the displays. You go in with one thing in mind, start browsing the display cases, and the next thing you know you're walking out with 2 boxes of pastries. Worth the trip.

The only problem with Astoria Pastry shop is deciding what to get. They practically have any possible dessert you can think of in all sorts of flavours. As you walk in the glass cases immediately grab your attention with the colourful baked treats. The air smells of a great assortment of unique sweets as well. I don't think they have... More

I love coming here and usually have to stop when I'm in Greektown. They have a wide assortment of treats, ice cream, muffins, cakes, cheesecakes, etc. The best thing to get here is the toffee bars. They are thick and are amazing if you leave them in the fridge for a day and then eat them.

Stopped in after dinner on a Saturday night and was mesmerized by their selections. Everything looks great. Lots of variety with ice cream and coffee as well. Purchased different cookies and were excellent. Not inexpensive, but if in Greektown, a must stop.

We stopped for a piece of baklava. It was out of this world. I have heard from other friends that other pastries are great too.

I loved seeing the array of treats in the long case with at least five different kinds of baklava. I started drooling as soon as I walked in the door. The chocolate dipped baklava with pistachio nuts was perfect and well paired with a decent latte.
