Downtown Detroit has some good places to eat, but my favorite is the Rattlesnake. A longtime resident of it's home down by the water, the food has been dependably great for many years. Lots of choices, from fat steaks to delicious fish, all prepared with a deft hand. You can usually find a table without too much trouble. In the... More

I hosted a recognition dinner with colleagues here. The service was great. Food was good. Bar manager Faruk is an absolute delight. This restaurant gem is well worth visiting. I plan to go back soon. Get Faruk to make you a Hummer after dinner. Heaven-ly!!

Came here with reservations on a Saturday for my sister's birthday and was greeted by a friendly hostess who gladly took our coats to the coat check. We were seated to the colorful and bright dining room, I was surprised to see the brightness and happiness in a fancy restaurant. Usually fancy restaurants are quite dark, but it was nice... More

Yes, we are biased, and you should know the Rattlesnake is our favorite restaurant going back for 20 years. But they have earned this over that time. Last night was a reminder about why it's our favorite. It sits on a property on the Detroit River, which is also away from the traffic and other distractions. Very elegant entrance (you... More

We went in their only for a drink at the bar in the evening. Coming in at 9.15 we were told the bar closes at 10. When we asked the barkeeper which whiskey he would recommend , he sad , he could not answer that question , because he was fond of wodka. He probably had a very bad day... More

I had dinner at the Rattlesnake Club on a Saturday night. We ate there during Detroit Restaurant Week so there was a special Prix Fixe menu. As a result, I cannot comment on the regular menu. However, I have no reason to believe that the quality of the dinner is not the same. Dinners started with a nice appetizer (Goat... More

We booked for our anniversary during restaurant week in Detroit. So for $30.00 each you got your starter, main and dessert. This is a very nice restaurant and the staff were very helpful and friendly. We did not feel rushed at all. We both had the salmon and it was excellent. This was just the right restaurant for our very... More

My husband and I decided to take advantage of the Detroit Restaurant Week and chose this restaurant out many others, mostly because we'd never been and I'd always want to try it. It's been on my list for years but somehow I never got around to it. The decor was very interesting. It was sort of Southwest American/Central American/Modern Chic.... More

We hit four restaurants in four days during Detroit restaurant week. We saved the Rattlesnake club for last. Because of its reputation we had high expectations. Boy, were we disappointed. The clientele and the staff were very stuffy. Our waiter Christopher barely said two words to us. I told him I might want a glass of red wine with dinner.... More
