“Glad to See the Old Place Hasn’t Changed”

Buddy’s at Six Mile (McNichols) & Conant in Detroit, MI is the original site of the now famous pizza. We stopped for a “memories” lunch after a visit to Belle Isle. The place has not changed and the food is still delicious. Beautiful murals add to the charm of checkered table cloths. We had an... read more

Just as I remembered it from 30 years ago: best pizza ever! Plus Tiger baseball icons on the walls. The service was a little slow but worth the wait. Get the pizza. The crust is to die for!

Have been coming here for double digit, big number YEARS! The best of all the locations, Dine in, carry out, atmosphere and service are great, friendly folks frequent this place. Have a boomba, 8 square pizza and a family size antipasto ~

Very reasonable priced restaurant, suitable for family and friends (not really a couples place) Service was great and everyone seemed to enjoy - great for friends and families.

Stopped by for a quick lunch after visiting the Ford Museum. Nice restaurant in a decent part of town. Their pizza was fantastic, deep dish style with the ingredients under the cheese. Good value for lunch.

Buddy's is one of those places locals cherish, but don't often share. This is location where it all started, but the neighborhood is off-putting, so residents often choose one of the newer, fancier (safer) locations in the 'burbs. It's a shame. This is what the old "mom and pop" pizza parlors were like, before "Pizza Nut" and others commercialized and... More

I was searching for good pizza places in Detroit online and came across Buddy's, which has several locations in and around Detroit and has been serving Sicilian style pizza since 1946. I should probably preface this by saying that I don't usually like deep dish unless I'm in Chicago, but I heard that Detroit gives Chi-Town a run for its... More

In a busy area near a major hospital, so you have to compete with the workers to get service. The wait is not very long, but very much worth the wait in the quality and taste.

Buddies is continuously rated and voted as the best pizza in Detroit, but I prefer to pass on the pizza. It's simply to greasy for me. And after an hour, I regret eating their pizza. If your thinking it maybe just my problem, I eat many other chain pizzas with no issue. It's just the amount of oil due to... More
