Although I am not a native "Detroiter", my husband is, and during a recent visit to Michigan, my brother-in-law suggested we have dinner at Buddy's. Even my husband was slightly reluctant when he realized we were dining on "6 Mile". I wasn't sure what that meant, but I got the general idea as soon as we drove into the area.... More

Buddy's is a good place to go for pizza. I was there only once, but the service was good and the pizza was good. They have a Coney Dog Pizza that is very good and hard to find. The prices are reasonable.

The neighborhood was sketchy but there was a fenced in parking lot behind Buddys that seemed secure. We were promptly seated and our water glasses never had a chance to get empty because the service was excellent. The pizza itself was excellent with a satisfying thick crust and the crust had a crunch from the hot oven. Both 4 square... More

Been going here since 1965. The original is always better then the ones in the burbs. More character and atmosphere.

We came here in September and my girlfriend tried the gluten free pizza. The location is a little bit creepy but the service we found inside was like most places in Detroit - very friendly and helpful. Despite the bad press, people were proud of their city and were keen to please people who made the effort to visit. The... More

We had wanted to go to the Buddy's in Dearborn but some halloween walks at Greenfield Village meant that it was going to be super busy so we redirected our friends to meet us at this location in Detroit instead. The area is pretty sketchy - not a lot going on around there - but they have a monitored parking... More

We came here for lunch and ordered 2 different types of 4 square pies (Detroiter and Supreme is my memory is correct). Both were pretty darn good. The square pies here aren't quite deep dish, and not quite thin-crust, but somewhere in between. They were both definitely good pies, but certainly not the best pizza I've ever had. The place... This is the original Buddy's, including the bathroom fixtures and outdoor Bocci courts. It is very clean, and offers a nice room (overlooking the Bocci courts) for large, family gatherings. As someone who likes thinner, hand-tossed pizza, I will say that Buddy's thicker crust was excellent; not heavy or greasy. Their menu is vast, including traditional as well as Vegan... More

Been a few years for the Detroit outlet, Quality was very good, that's why I now go to the Bloomfield Hills restaurant. Cozy, staff is helpful and well knowledged.
