Old School Hangout Joint

Used to live in Detroit and this was one of my favorite places to enjoy a cocktail or two and enjoy the food, music and overall vibe that is Floods. Stopped by a few nights ago while in DTW on business and was gratified to see nothing had changed and still a great place to kick back and enjoy... read more

I've been coming to Floods since I was 22 yrs old. Always a live band singing and in recent years, a dj on the other side. The Soul Food is authentic and the atmosphere... inviting. Duch great memories back then, and even more now!! After work, weekends club-hop or just for lunch or dinner... This is a great place to... More

We stumbled upon Floods Bar & Grill by accident. It was a Tuesday and we wanted to visit a place that resonated Detroit. We found it in Floods. The place has a smoky, dark "if the walls could only talk" type of feel. They were blasting R&B sounds that bounced cleverly off the wall right into your stomach. The drinks... More

That was the first time my husband had been in over 20yrs. We enjoyed the food and drinks. The grilled pork chops are always cooked to perfection. Mac & Cheese and strings were excellent as well. We had steak bits for a appetizer that was very tender. We were able to enjoy the music and also did a couple of... More

First of all, although it's a bar, it's food is absolutely delicious! Soul food and creole food. The buffalo shrimp, lamb chops, fried chicken, the stir fry, all of the sides...amazing! The drinks are nice ;) On the weekends, talented live bands on one side and DJ playing old school, r&b and latest jams. People dancing. A lot of fun.... More

I love Floods and have been going for years for the best fried chicken, greens, mac n cheese and shrimp. The food is consistent and delicious, however the service lately has left a bit to be desired. There never seems to be enough wait staff and once you have ordered it seems to take forever to get your food delivered.... More

I love live music and this is the place for it, after nine. If you don't like a band, the back room has a DJ. Everyones happy and even happier with soul food. Its actually a mixed crowd that has drink specials and happy hour four to seven. Cover is five dollars after eight and valet is five dollars or... More

Floods has been around for years for good reason. The food is some of the best soul food in the city. You can always catch great live music. And the atmosphere is friendly and lively. It's just a good quality time. Ideal for the sophisticated crowd.
