Three of us stopped in for brunch on a warm spring morning. We had a choice to eat inside or outside on the courtyard patio, and we opted for outside. It was a great choice, and what a wonderful place for people watching! An eclectic mix of age, gender, race, ethnicity, with many coming from church in their finery and... More

Four of us ate here during Detroit Restaurant week. Only one of us ordered the DRW menu. Everything was very good: pasta, entre salad, lamb shank. The service was excellent and the atmosphere lovely. We ate on the outside patio and enjoyed the night. I'd recommend it, though it is in a bad neighborhood, the parking was valet and just... More

I hosted a Sunday brunch for my family at LDV and three days later am still thinking about how enjoyable it was. The food and service (including valet) were terrific. I look forward to returning for an early lunch or dinner when it is not as crowded.

We met friends for an early Valentine's dinner with reservations. We were seated as soon as we arrived. The other couple had suggested the place, and we were not disappointed. Calamari appetizer was large enough for the three calamari eaters to enjoy.Minestrone sipper enjoyed his soup. I had the veal chop on special. It was wonderful. Quite a big chop,... More

Went for brunch before seeing a show at the Fisher Theater. Had fried egg plate and split a dessert (hazelnut cake). Eggs were fine. Came with potatoes, I think. Cake was very cold (from refrigerator/freezer) and dry. We could not get a HOT cup of tea or coffee. Live music in the other room sounded nice. If you drive here... More

My husband and I met his sister and brother-in-law at la DolceVita for dinner before a show down at The Filmore. She had called to make reservations at premium downtown restaurants but all were booked so she suggested La Dolce Vita. We used our navigation to get there. The entrance is around the back of the building. The neighborhood is... More

Arrived around 5:15 PM for 5:30 reservations. They could not locate our parties reservation but was seated promptly at a table near the bar. I haven't been here for years so it was quite a surprise that much hasn't changed. Unfortunately there was a musty smell near the table we sat at. I looked up and noticed that there were... More

I mean wow... I had a childhood raised 10 minutes from Cabrini Green in Chicago Illinois so I hope I tend to know what I'm talking about when I write something like I'm about too... I write this trying very hard not to knock the surrounding area, but come on, it is what it is so don't get mad if... More

Attended brunch with my cousins early in January. Food was good especially the French Toast. I had Eggs Benedict. Although it was perfectly prepared, I was hungry when I left. Service wasn't attentive, yet they wanted us out in 1 1 /2 hours. Won't have brunch here again.
