La Dolce Vita is one of my favorite places to eat in Detroit. The food is excellent and the staff is usually so accommodating. We had 8:00 pm reservations on a Saturday night, and although the restaurant was packed, we were seated within 15 minutes. Unfortunately, on this particular Saturday, our experience was not the usual excellence I have come... More

LOCATION: Palmer Park District, Detroit. I met a friend of mine here for lunch while on vacation in Detroit. You could easily miss this restaurant, because the name isn't on the building. Just the letters "LDV" for La Dolce Vita. There's valet parking in the back of the building, but there's no set amount. ATMOSPHERE: There's a charming patio with... More

This fine Italian Restaurant is a hidden gem in Detroit. Quietly nestled across from Palmer Park, it is difficult to find, but worth the search! Valet parking is available. In June they open the outdoor patio, with strings of twinkling lights at night and beautiful greenery during the day. The ambiance is quiet and intimate. The chef is authentically Italian... More

Great food and such a fun atmosphere for big groups of family and friends Pricey but we'll worth the bottomless mimosas and bloody marys.

We went during detroit Restuarant Week, on a Thursday, We had a 6:00 reservation and unfortunately the couple that joined us was delayed. The resturant was accomodating in pushing back our reservation. My wife and I had a drink at the Bar while we waited. The Bar area was an energetic atmosphere. Not to be confused with noisy. When the... More

It was Easter Sunday 2014- we had a reservation for 11:15am. We promptly arrived and waited for our table for 4. We were seated in a quaint corner across from a family who had obviously had an appetizer or two and shortly thereafter their brunch came.... The server (who was in such a rush didn't even bother to tell us... More

If you like having a relaxing, pleasant meal, do not go to La Dolce Vita. They are more concerned about turning tables than they are with providing a good dining experience. As soon as we were finished with our dinner (a party of four spending over $300) the hostess asked us to leave because others were waiting for our table.... More

All four of our party enjoyed terrific, early evening, mid-week meal here. It was not crowded however, the ceilings are high and stone masonry is all around. The place is cavernous and gets noisy easily. Our waiter, Antonin served a fresh, flavorful calamari appetizer. The four piece bruschetta appetizer was soggy, however. Olive oil was served with bread. The oil... More

What a lovely place to have a delicious meal! The car parkers were friendly, the wait staff courteous and knowledgeable, (and good looking!) the food was delicious. I had the lamb chop special of the evening with amazing smashed potatoes. My friend had chicken piccata which she ate without offering me a bite! I've heard that the outdoor dining area... More
