Our son and daughter in law chose a lovely place to have their garden wedding and indoor reception. The Whitney is beautiful and the food and service was excellent. We are all so pleased with everyone and everything . Joel the keyboard player was very talented and his cheerful disposition and beautiful music made the day complete. Amed, Samantha, Phillip... Enjoyed my dinner at the Whitney. Dined in the Library, a beautiful room off the main grand entry hall. Warning - portions are very generous! Afterward, I toured the home. Beautiful stained glass in the grand stairway. Thankfully the home remained in private hands and all architectural features remain. The second floor rooms are set up for group meeting/dining the... The Whitney Restaurant in Detroit, Michigan is a world class topnotch restaurant. The food, cocktails, wines, desserts, ambience, service and attentive, knowledgeable & friendly wait staff are second to none. After dinner, ask for a tour of the David Whitney home by Robert. He's awesome! However, The Whitney is rumored to have ghost but don't fret because they haven't ruined... More

Sunday brunch at this late 1800s lumber baron's mansion is a relaxing, enjoyable way to see the beautiful property and eat buffet-style ($40 per adult including bottomless Mimosas). The space is used for larger (think wedding) parties. Reservations are recommended. This particular Sunday however, we had no trouble getting immediate seating for two. Our server, Hillary was professional yet down... More

Had a fantastic evening out enjoying a 4-course dinner built around my favorite wine selection. Great tour of the house just prior to the main course. Great evening out.

Went to the Whitney today for high tea with the some girlfriends. We were very pleased with the courses, the blended tea and a tour of the mansion. If you enjoy a traditional afternoon tea this is the place to go. The location is on Woodward Ave. in midtown near Wayne State University, the DIA, and the Detroit Historical Museum.... More

My husband took me to the Whitney for our 25th wedding anniversary dinner. Be for dinner, we went up to the bar for drinks and to explore the historic house. Wow, it is just beautiful here, and the history. After about an hour we went to the dinning room for dinner. Our waiter Daniel was amazing. He explained everything so... More

We just cannot say enough good things about The Whitney! We love Detroit and The Whitney is a gem of a restaurant there. First we went up to the 3rd floor for drinks before dinner. The bartender Alex was great. Good conversation and exceptional drinks. Then to dinner. Again our server Shawn was excellent. We had a wonderful time with... More

Our group had a very lovely lunch at this elegant venue. Although the food was excellent and our server was very personable, we were unable to spend much time exploring the house because it took quite a long time for the meals to be served. I'm sure it was due to the fact that each plate was specially prepared, but... More
