The Whitney recently started serving breakfast on weekdays, from 8:00 until 1:00. I visited this morning, and had a very elegant, pleasant experience. It is a perfect environment for quiet discussions--would be great for a business breakfast. As it happens, there was a business group in one of the rooms having a breakfast meeting. My food was very good, and... More

"Colorado Baby Lamb Mint Fig Chutney, Juniper Demi, Potato Purée at $44" is what I ordered. It was great, but I wish there had been an half portion alternate. I expected 3 to 4 chops and was given 8. Now this leaves me with a negative impression as I can't eat it all and can't take it with me.(Does this... More

It couldn't have fallen on a better time. The Detroit Restaurant Week just happened to be going on the weekend we moved into our new home so as a surprise, I booked a table. This was my fiancé first time dining at The Whitney and we both had a wonderful time. Three course meal at a Detroit landmark for $30... More

Sunday we had our much anticpated meal at the Whitney. The atmosphere is hands down the best. I wish there had been a card on the table or on the menu which gave the info I had to look up on their website. We had 2 menus to choose from. The restaurant week menu was $30 for 3 items- appetizer,... More

The Whitney is one of Detroit's iconic restaurants, located in a beautiful historic mansion that feeds the eye long before food reaches your stomach. Before or after dinner, be sure to wander and look at the various rooms on all three floors. This visit was occasioned by an evening at the Fisher Theater, preceded by dinner at the Whitney. We... We dined at The Whitney while visiting our daughter and son in law and the overall experience was relaxed and delightful all the way around. The mansion is gorgeous, the interior woodwork is fabulous, and touring the mansion’s the three floors offered a glimpse into the gilded age of 1890’s. The house has many rooms for different types of dining... More

Just hosted a luncheon for 50+ at this beautiful, historic mansion. Lunch is out of the ordinary, but they will open for you if you have a large enough gathering. My clients were enormously impressed with the delicious food, attentive friendly service and gorgeous surroundlings. So many of them had past the mansion many times but had never been inside... More
