My wife and I dined here with another couple to celebrate our anniversary. We arrived a half hour before our reservation so we could enjoy a drink at the Ghost Bar. It is a beautiful old home. They have done very well to maintain the grand feeling of the rooms. We were seated in the front sitting room. It was... More

I visited the Whitney for the first time last weekend, they sat us by the front window, which gave us a nice view of woodward ave, but left us freezing I guess the windows are old, and the lack of drapery or even heat (there was a vent right in front of the window, but it wasn't blowing out any... A group of us went here for resturant week, which is when all the resturants serve a 3 course meal for 29 $. It was fabulous. I thought they would make the portions smaller, but they didn't. The food is wonderful as always. A must if you are in the city.

Came here before the theater performance at 5:30, ordered the "pre-fix" menu specifically for theater goers, 3 courses at $39.00 per person. Had an wonderfully attentive waiter, ate in the old dining room with the lights low and were not rushed! We had plenty of time to get to the Opera house.

We stopped in for drinks before a play. Atmosphere is classy 19th century with lots of dark woods for a perfect romantic rendezvous. Happy hour brings prices down to a reasonable level. Bartender was excellent. Rest rooms seem really haunted. Lighting is very subdued and perfect for gazing into your date's eyes. Restaurant below may be good but some of... More

We had a great night before catching a play. They had a theatre menu that was wonderful! 3 course that was great and only $39 a person. For a nice night out I didn't think was too bad. We also split a really nice bottle of wine. You can get a nice bottle for about $38. The history of the... More

My husband and I don't go out much to fancy restaurants, you know, the kind with valet parking and tablecloths? He doesn't like to try any place he hasn't been before, and his go-to meal at the handful of restaurants we do visit is a hamburger. But we went to the Whitney for a special occasion at the recommendation of... More

When we walked in the door the place was beautiful! We were sat at a table pushed against the fireplace (not cool), & my chair was broken. My husband and I ordered the flaming shimp for a starter which was delicious. For our entrees we ordered the beef Wellington and the tenderloin oscar. The waiter brought us 2 tenderloin oscars... We paid for a Groupon to visit the Whitney and it was going to expire and it was close to the holidays, so I decided to make a date night with my husband. The experience WAS HORRIBLE!!! The food was horrible! Our waiter NEVER asked if we liked anything or if we needed anything!!! If the Restaurants do not want... More
