Thank God there is still great places to eat in Detroit such as this! We make a point of eating here when visiting family in SE Michigan. This is the perfect prelude to a night at the casino. The pizza is amazing to the point that it's hard to eat more than one slice and the antipasto salad is great... More

I have eaten Chicago deep dish pizza at UNO, Giordano's and Gino's. While they were all very good, I have never been back and do not plan to. However that is not the case with Pizza Papalis. I first went there in 1995. I have since travelled all over the world and I consider myself a "foodie". The meat lover's... More

My friend and I stopped at Pizza Papalis for lunch prior to a Tiger ball game. The antipasto salad was delicious! The chocolate chip cookie (we took and ate at the game) was fresh and scrumptious!

Had the pan pizza instead of the deep dish. My wife and I ordered the small and it was the perfect amount. The pizza was delicious. Will definitely go back. It was a 20 min wait but worth it.

If I want Chicago pizza, I go to Chicago (or an Uno's in Cincinnati). So, I tried the thin crust pizza at Pizza Papalis. The pizza and restaurant were fine but certainly do not live up to its #2 Tripadvisor rating. A word about eating in Greektown -- on the two occasions I have carried a take home box of... More

Pizzas are great here. They're on the expensive side but they're massive. The restaurant offers beer and sides (bread, etc.) that is very reasonably priced. Great stop before or after a game.

We went before the Tigers game on the recommendation of a friend. We knew it was Chicago deep dish style and were really looking forward to it. We ordered one and were informed of the long wait, so we expected it. We were told about 30-35 minutes, but it turned out to be more like 45-50 minutes. And to be... More

With so many places to choose from around Ford Field, Comerica, and in Greek Town, it's easy to walk into a restaurant you'll regret. Pizza Papalis will not disappoint. I've never been to Chicago, but I imagine this is what deep dish pizza is meant to be. A small is almost too much to split between two, but every bite... More

It took a while to receive our order, however it was busy for a Monday night. Servings were generous and pizzas were pretty good.

Every bit as good as Chicago Pizza! Worth the 35 minute wait it takes to cook, their house salad and yummy breadsticks held my kids and I over just fine till the pizza came! And we had an awesome server, wish I could remember her name!
