I like this restaurant because of its service its food, and the portions of food the restaurant gives you. The menu has a great variety of food and practically every stuff you try is good except some. The decoration isn't the best but the food is nice.

After reading all of the positive reviews of Giovanni's I decided to venture out and give it a try. After driving through the middle of nowhere to get where, I finally arrived. There is valet parking, which made me feel very safe. The restaurant has a very warm and inviting feel. I ordered the portobello mushroom appetizer and eggplant parmesan... More

Great food and service. Not a great neighborhood but fresh Italian food. Service is attentive, informative wo being obnoxious. Get the veal, best in the city! Also the angel hair pasta is to die for.

Came here for a work lunch, had no idea what to expect. Don't let the location through you for a loop. We were seated in the very front room on the left. I like that they have little private areas for parties. The shrimp and risotto pasta appetizer may be the single best thing I have ever had. The peppers... More

Called to purchase a gift card and Courtney the manager was anything but accommodating in filing my request. Hopefully, the in person experience is not as poor as the on call experience.

Our expectations were so high based on all the previous Trip Advisor reviews that I half expected we'd be somewhat disappointed. I was wrong. We had an absolutely terrific meal at this long time Detroit landmark restaurant. The location of Giovannis - in an industrial area of Detroit and on a dead end street - should not put you off... Had dinner with 2 colleagues. Chris was an amazing steward who recommended the calamaries (truly the best you have ever eaten). In the entrees, the salmon and steak were fantastically preared. The ambience with the politeness of Chris made this place even more amazing. My number 1 choice of place to eat in Detroit.

Some friends treated us to Giovanni's last weekend and it was truly a wonderful experience. The valet was so great (and the server even asked us for our valet ticket when we had paid our bill and our car was waiting for us when we walked out of the restaurant, warmed up and ready to go). The homemade pasta was... More

This place is the real deal. Six for dinner on a Saturday night with a reservation (a must). Area is not the best, but with valet parking, everything is fine. All homemade pasta and a number were had with the linguini with clams and eggplant being the favorites. Great meal and wonderful service. Waitress has been there for 29 years... More
