Went for lunch andn everything was wonderful. The first thing I noticed was all the old family photos. It has a real family feel both in the decor as well as in the menu. We tried a few appetisers. One was a sausage and one was calamari. Both were superb. After a delicious meal, I packed in tiramisu and was... More

Food and service were very good. Atmosphere was perfect! But the location is horrible. Road work made it almost impossible to get to the restaurant. The navigation in the car took us through really crappy neighborhoods only to have us stuck at a broken drawbridge. Management did buy our dessert to make up for effort to get there. Not sure... It is a long drive but certainly worth it for a special occasion. The restaurant is rather small so you're really close to your neighbor so don't expect to have a super romantic evening. The food is why you go and its terrific. The four of us had the full range of dinners, veal, pasta, shrimp and chicken, all were... More

A little off the beaten path but well worth your time and effort. Great food and wonderful and attentive staff. you may even be treated to a wonderful story by the owner who loves to talk to the customers. Food is excellent and I've never had a bad meal there. The Calamari is an excellent appetizer and the entrees are... More

First time dinner at Giovanni's this evening. The food was spectacular and the service incredible. The lasagne with hand made pasta, melted in your mouth. I would HIGHLY recommend this restaurant. The ambiance was old world elegant and yet not in the least bit stuffy or pretentious. We found a new favorite!

This is one of the best dinners I have had anywhere. Start with the best calamari and move on to some some wonderful bean and pasta soup. You might not even wan to go on from there, but their excellent home made (restaurant made) pasta in an outstanding sauce will keep your dining pleasant and fulfilling. If you can save... More

Wow...just getting there is a major challenge...Not the best location....plus detour work (not their fault). Once you arrive...you have to pay $5.00 for valet.. when all they do is park your car on the street. I can do that ! Place is very small, dark and the front entrance has the smell of gas from refinery across the .The staff... More

Ten of us made the road trip from Ann Arbor, MI -- a barren wasteland of Italian food -- and dined at Giovanni's. We were not disappointed. From seating, through the careful rendering of the menu, to the wine and through the appetizers, entrees and dessert, our experience was top notch. I have had better Italian food and wine --... More

Not sure about you, but I always question when I see a restaurant rated #1. I guess you just normally set a higher bar. Giovanni's should have that rating. It started when they agreed to accommodate a large group for us with less than a week's notice. Then we arrived late due to transportation issues. That was not an issue... More

Hands down best pasta and sea bass I've ever had...The desserts incredible...table terrible. When you make reservations ...request to NOT be seated at the terrible table for 2. they will know what you are referring to (a small table immediately to the right of the entrance). A waitress hit my shoulder passing behind me 2 times and I can't tell... More
